Multi Culti shine light on one of the key players of the Lithuanian scene with ‘V’’s ‘Voyage Voyage.’ 

Venerated mystery man V stands for many things, but first and foremost: Vilnius. Resident at Opium Club & Gallery 1986, founder of Ant Bangos, Alfavilnius and OLE Festivals, creator of Silence Music, Best Kept Secret and Le Temps Perdu labels - the artist formerly known as 'Vidis’ has been a mainstay in Lithuanian music for over 20 years, a talented curator, community builder and, of course, DJ.

With ‘Voyage Voyage’, V crystallizes his musical aesthetics, presenting a stripped-down mix of 80s new wave and 2000s electro  - influences no doubt familiar to the legions of Lithuanian fans that have been chugging along to his sets for the last 20+ years. 

On ‘Avventura,’ V enlists Domenique Dumont for a cinematic instrumental, with a new-wave indie bass-line sailing us past epic strings and contrapuntal melodies in dreamy nostalgic fashion. 

Multi Culti co-founder Dreems jumps in to the deep end on ‘Kosmische Muzik,’ a rollicking jam that combines the pastoral psychedelic feeling of Krautrock with industrial prog-tronica.

There’s enough variety in this triptych to keep things interesting while still feeling cohesive, a skillful set of tracks that showcases V’s vast experience while pointing to this being very much the beginning for him as a producer.

Multi Culti are proud to present the debut EP from Sao Paolo's Voodoohop resident, Thomash.

DJ Thomash has set up one of the most influential nights in the bazooming Brazilian scene with his Voodoohop party, a fusion of tropical hedonism and avant-garde trance-inducing European electronic music, a lively mix that no doubt has its genesis in his transplanted German roots (he's from Cologne aka Kompakt-ville). He's shared the stage with guys like Rebolledo, Joakim, Acid Pauli and more, and now finally looks to colonize the world with his first release.

Interestingly, Thomash has a degree in artificial intelligence, so while it might just be our imagination, it does seem that the rhythms, full of oddly tuned percussion and colorful synth stabs seem imbued with a distinct internal logic, playful forms that bounce off each other in their own reality, according to their own laws. This narrative of the ethnoid, German-Brazilian AI ties in nicely with the title: Candomble is the name of an Afro-Brazilian religion, meaning literally 'dance in honour of the gods.' Fortunately for us, Thomash seems to be honouring some scarcely acknowledged, far-out deities... spritely DMT-elves. Ectoplasma further plays into this reading, both in title and in vibe, floating unconcerned with material dancefloor goals into a space of peaceful imagination and spirit. Finally, Calango Fumando Palha is a soft, dreamy morning peyote-fire anthem… a healing latin lullaby to soothe troubles and set positive vibes free.

Called in to take us deeper into the trip are Multi Culti's go-to sooth-sayers DREEMS, who lead us forwards in full-chakra-alignment with the originals, bringing bigger bass into the heart of the jungle, tripping on acid, leaving us loose-limbed, wide-eyed, and open-minded in bliss as the final chords tuck us in and kiss us goodnight. Championed by the likes of Seth Troxler, Guy Gerber and Tiga, the former Footprintz member turned solo star has set his musical sights on the incense-filled Multi Culti chill-out room.

Following recent releases on Visionquest, Supplement Facts, Life & Death, and Turbo, Clarian continues a run of musically diverse, emotionally resonant songs with this three track EP. Ma Shiva stands out immediately in every way: it’s a mid-tempo pop ballad that takes as its refrain one of the most popular Hindu mantras. It’s a total one-off that has a certain familiarity to it without actually sounding quite like anything specific… except, oddly enough, maybe a dash of 80s-era Leonard Cohen in the phrasing of the verses. Open Your Eyes takes the tempo down even lower, into laid-back Talking Heads territory. Taking on such a wide range is an impressive feat, a show of great confidence from the young Montreal-based producer. It’s no wonder he’s been courted by some of the biggest names in the house scene as both a writer and producer. Rounding off these two languid anthems is Dystopia, a dragon-stick-juggling bazaar-ride of inner-exoticism. Progressive - even for progressive!

In remix support are the always-awesome Invisible Conga People, long overdue to release more original music. For the time being we’ll have to content ourselves with this epic, meandering acid dub rework of the title track.

Supported by the likes of Axel Boman, Ivan Smagghe, Joseph Capriati and more, UFO House vol I was a watershed release, the birth of a micro-genre. Mushroom-fortified acid house with a touch of ketamine wonk, to put things in terms most drug-addled DJs will understand. Alien intelligence filtered through the feeble human vessel coupled with analog electronics. 
Abduct these dance floors without reservation, achieve aural supremacy, out-funk your DJ neighbour. Do not resist.

Multi Culti serve up a full-length treat from Peruvian artist Aristidez.

Cofounder of Lima-based party collective Casa Locasa and the non-profit label Behua Icara (translated as Healing Rhythms), in support of indigenous culture, Aristidez has recently relocated to Berlin.

With releases on Calypso, Disque-Discos, and Kebrada, as well as remixes for Amplio Espectro, Ida Sound, Discos Aquelarre, Rotten City Files, and Playground Records, Aristidez has quietly made a name for himself with a growing catalog of low-key dance tracks that have been championed by the likes of Matias Aguayo, Andrew Weatherall (RIP), and Inigo Vontier, to name a few.

With an emphasis on the hypnotic power of rhythm, Aristidez channels indigenous influences in subtle fashion, alluding to visionary experience without resorting to pastiche or obvious tropes. There are freaky tribal rhythms but no shaman samples, just expertly produced tracks than reveal an expansive set of electronic influences that range across tempos and decades, from breaky 90s rave, 80s proto-trance, cult dub, downtempo and more. It’s listenable, danceable, heady and kaleidoscopic stuff that should stand the test of time.

Multi Culti World Records venture deeper into the new new age with the release of "Ocean of Beauty - Meditations for Synthesizer and Bansuri Flute," a collaboration between California-based artist/DJ Earthtones and Indian classical musician Sheela Bringi.
Earthtones, fresh off his genre-defying debut album on Wonderwheel, here dives into the deep end of the ocean of ambient. With music that traverses cultures, he’s known for bridging influences from Cumbia to hip hop and house music. Here he presents his most consciousness-expanding work yet, no doubt influenced by his involvement in Ojai new age culture, years living in ashrams, practicing Shaktism, + spending as much time curating sounds suitable for aural healing and meditation as for dance-floors.
He’s found a perfect muse in Boulder-based Sheela Bringi, whose virtuosity in Indian classical music sets the tone of the record with her bansuri (Indian bamboo flute) & harp, blending traditional instrumentation with more contemporary influences. Bringi was a direct disciple of bansuri master GS Sachdev, and represents a devotional musical lineage.  She has released two solo albums, "Shakti Sutra" and "Incantations," and her work has been featured on over 50 world and ambient records, plus publicly on outlets from NPR to NBC News, & more.
"Ocean of Beauty" is the English translation of an ancient Sanskrit text devoted to the divine mother, the Śri Saundarya Lahari,  The song titles are taken from verses in that text, and the album is in fact a dedication to the goddess Lalitā Devī.  It creates a serene, meditative space which seamlessly blends traditions; synth-driven ragas with a spirit of tranquility that nurtures Multi Culti’s philosophical bent towards ‘music without borders.’
The album will be released on LP mid-November and across streaming platforms from January 1, 2025

Founded by Robbie Redway, Mathieu Seynaeve and WaiFung Tsang, UK-based 'United Freedom Collective' has grown into a collaborative network of diversely talented artists that includes Jordan Stephens, Falle Nioke, Eliza Shaddad, Labdi, William Rees and Facesoul, among others. WaiFung and Mathieu work as psychedelic researchers and health practitioners, so in addition to the four EPs released on Maribou State's 'Dama Dama' label, they have also created soundscapes for psychedelic therapy sessions, online yoga and breathwork channels. 

Influenced, in their words, 'by birds, trees, Buddhism, yoga, headless way meditations, Jungian analysis, Zen Taoism, Chinese plant medicines, indigeneity, Amazonian and psychedelic cultures, icaros and worldwide healing traditions.' The music is eclectic, ranging from afro-inspired jazz to Chinese folk, psych-rock to dub and dance music, an ambitious and inclusive range that has already seen them work with musicians in Kenya, pointing to exciting future collabs that extend well beyond the borders of western musical traditions. Their sound was described by Clash Magazine as an 'aural mosaic that glitters with colour and potential,' and while the sheen of the production and precision of the arrangements might seem a departure from Multi Culti's left-field endeavours, the psychedelic idealism and global connectivity make it a natural fit with the open-ended ethos of the label.

On this new EP, Robbie takes the lead on production and, for the first time, sole vocal duties on all five tracks, which present a fantastic range of influences and style. Lead single 'Between Memories' blends tropes of ecstatic dance with uplifting vocal piano house, somehow making hippie flutes fit in with Detroit strings to epic, hands-in-the-air effect.' Title track Bright Patterns' bridges the gap between Jungle, Jai Paul, and Jamiroquai, a fusion of funky filtered disco-house and electroclash with side-chained pop vocal hooks.' 

Having already had radio support from KEXP, BBC6 Music (Laverne, Ravenscroft, Charles, Nemone, Letts), Jazz FM and Worldwide FM (Gilles Peterson), with a live show has recently sold out Dalston Curve Garden and The Waiting Room, London (as well as gigs at Lost Village, Blue Dot, Neon In Nature and Wilderness festivals) the young collective's future is looking exceptionally bright.

The cult of Multi Culti expands it’s horizons to include Nicola Cruz, backed by remixes from Xanga and L_cio.

Nicola Cruz’s music beautifully invokes the landscapes and rituals of his homeland, Ecuador, a country that contains both the majestic Andes mountains and the mighty Amazon jungle.  His sound is an amalgamation of folkloric traditions and ancestral mythologies, crafted with fine detail and slick production techniques.

In 2012 Nicola collaborated with Nicolas Jaar on Clown & Sunset, and has since worked towards his debut album on ZZK Records.
Between past and present, traditional and modern, Nicola fits into a growing scene of South American artists exploring local indigenous and Afro-cosmologies, among fellow artists and ZZK label-mates like Chancha Via Circuito.

For his debut on Multi Culti, Nicola has created Mantis, and it is arguably his most accomplished club record to date, a 105bpm tribal chugger that flexes shamanic authority over hearts and minds. Invocacion goes even deeper into the new, new age, presenting traditional instrumentation and mysticism in a modern framework. Australia’s Xanga joins in with a super lively, rhythmic remix that is as joyful as it is deep. Finally, Brazil’s L_cio presents a version that strips things down for club play, upping the tempo while keeping the characteristic flavour of the flute.

DJ OIL (Lionel Corsini) is a DJ, producer, and founding member of the influential French trio Troublemakers, whose blend of jazz and trip-hop helped define a generation of left-field electronic music. Emerging from Marseille's underground, OIL has spent decades crafting a singular sound that bridges inner city grit with global musical currents.

His solo output - including Black Notes, Phantom, and Bref Avenir - is marked by analog textures, esoteric rhythms, and a masterful use of archival and spoken-word samples. These voices, often urgent and politically charged, give his productions a visceral edge, carrying the pulse of resistance through the dancefloor.

This November, DJ OIL will release his new album RESERVE - a stark work that deepens his exploration of medium and message. The album will be available digitally, alongside an ultra-limited LP edition of just 10 copies, underscoring the rarity of the groove.

Tel Aviv’s Red Axes are one of the most exciting new acts in dance music, with rich sound that is musical, deep, trippy and organic, while remaining precise and lethally effective in the club. The range in their sound is impressive, their talent unmistakeable. They are one of our favourite artists of the year, and this latest record is one of their best yet.

Lead track 'Waiting for a Surprise’ builds around a mid-tempo disco bassline, with tough percussion, and rugged synth stabs, but it’s the eerie and unique sounding vocals of Brazilian collaborator Abrao that bring everything together. This one is a guaranteed bomb for building up, tearing down, peak time or chilling out… an outstanding track in every sense, the kind that force trainspotters to the DJ booth to discover what’s playing. Next up, ‘Hope’ kicks off with resonant, delayed toms, adding a haunting howl and synths before dropping into a wild, clanging, carnivalesque frenzy. It’s understated, but advanced, with an interesting arrangement that really opens up in the second half. Finally, 'The Metal Bender’ slows the tempo but ups the vibe into an elated, slow-burning space-disco anthem. Fantastic stuff!

Melbourne’s Kris Baha, fresh from launching his Power Station imprint, offers a stripped down remix of ‘Waiting for a Surprise,’ with a heavy, industrial-influenced groove that wanders into the deep, dark end of party strasse.

Multi Culti dive deeper into muso alchemy with ‘Cimbal Tanz,’ a record release that bridges the cult solo 'cimbal’ performance of Emil Jourjou with fellow Moldavian producer Bliz Nochi’s electronics.
Bliz Nochi began learning music at age 7 playing the accordion, later mastering the guitar and piano. By 17, he was experimenting with new metal genres, Dub, electronic, and indie music. In 2016, he released his first works under the name Bliz Nochi, blending world music and exotica infused with Balkan elements, which led him to connect with master musician Emil Jourjou.
Emil Jourjou, a master cimbal player born in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, studied at the prestigious Ciprian Porumbescu music school. His years of experience and deep connection to Balkan musical traditions build a cultural bridge between classical and folkloric orchestral music, having performed at such events as the World Expo in Hanover, and for the Philharmonic in Lübeck.
In 2021, the pair began recording together, remixing their friend and mentor Andi Otto for Multi Culti (later licensed to last year's Buddha Bar compilation). That collaboration paved the way for this full-length LP, with one side focused on traditional cimbal recordings and the other side a fusion featuring Bliz Nochi's production, a format Multi Culti initiated to showcase the too often obscured talent of the solo musician.
Bliz Nochi's LP is more than an album; it’s a journey through sound blending tradition and modernity, offering listeners a unique blend of Moldavian music and contemporary electronic styles. This project highlights Bliz Nochi's dedication to his roots and innovative spirit, bringing a fresh perspective to the music scene.

It's like if Burial hopped out of his gamer-chair solitude, popped an E and ran into the forest to perform alongside Caribou at a transformational breakfast rave. 
Writer-producer cum band-leader Robbie Redway's falsetto vocal soars atop an epic soundscape composed from certified-organic instruments, electronic studio gizmos and ambient textures spun from hand-wound reel-to-reel tapes, traversing a heady blend of influences with heartfelt idealism.

'Bumblebeez' producer and frontman Christopher Colonna - Australia’s answer to Pablo Picasso - steps out to the world with an extended player of pure, unadulterated sonic imagination that perfectly represents the ethos of Multi Culti's vibe. 
 
Largely written and produced in the backwoods of Hackney in 2014 and refined at the ‘BBZ HQ Braidwood 2622,’ the songs take cues from all over the place: classical composers, trips to South Africa, the electricity of the Diwali festival, peace of mind, French women recalling their sexual nightmares, yearning for the Outback & Global roaming. Layers of tropical sounds, a collection of myriad samples & bedroom beats all at play together in an alternate reality. These uncut diamonds were previously unreleased, but an early version of Ghana was included on Multi Culti Japan, which got support from Roman Flügel, Erol Alkan and Boris Dlugosch, among others. Exoticaspeakerjam was also exclusively featured on Tiga’s BBC Radio1 mix.

It's useless to categorize, and difficult to describe, but what matters most is that the listen is warm and rewarding. It's dense with ideas, but the whole thing is wrapped up in a light-hearted charm that feels extra-precious today.

Multi Culti's astrological archive expands into lunar phase with deep trips from CROWDPLEASER, BIRD OF PARADISE, DREEMS, NICK MURRAY & KRIS BAHA.

The trip begins with Swiss journeyman Crowdpleaser teaming up with Egyptian homie Mah'mood for a majikal rendition of pre-Islamic poem YASMIN, featuring hauntingly beautiful vocals from Tunisian wedding singer Habib. <3

UK-native BIRD OF PARADISE joins the crew, fresh off releases on Throne of Blood and Correspondant, with 'The Holy Mountain,' a Jodorowsky-scale epic that sounds like the full-moon party you should've gone to instead of that disgusting frat-party you landed at down the beach.

Label guru DREEMS comes up to bat with the herbal Sine 'O' The Tymes, refining the entire funk of Princeness and bottling into an acid genie bottle, bumping along with a few lazy cowbells in tow, until finally giving way to a frankly astonishingly pretty finish. Masterful. We are all feeling this one.

Finally, Australian doof dingos NICK MURRAY & KRIS BAHA bring up the tempo, rocking out in their inimitable style with electrified guitars, and hypnotic grooves that speak to a lifetime of overhearing digeridoos. 

We live in a beautiful world, ladies and dudes... cherish it in all it's different forms, love it more than you judge it, dance and don't be afraid. Never forget we're in this together: we are all one mind.

One of the key emerging artists out of South America in recent years, Nicola Cruz is fresh off his debut album on ZZK and primed to take off with his folklorically dope live set. ‘Pagano’ might be his most dance-floor friendly track to date, sounding like it came straight out of Compass Point studios carrying the smell of good ganja.

Next up is Disco Halal’s MOSCOMAN, kicking it in a latino style for a change, flexing his skills into different lingual terrain, masterfully mixing things up in his inimitably unconventional style.

Aussie favela-funklord Xanga is back with MC Sheikh Djibouti, with a blunted piece of snake charmed spacey hip hop. Dope.

Finally, Tel Aviv’s 84PC, a trio comprised of Malka Tuti’s Katzi Kenneth, Asaf Samuel and Naduve, deliver a beautiful piece of sun-kissed guitar prog downtempo. Mellow, melting, mental, magic mushroom music.

The jewel in the crown of Israel’s underground music scene, Red Axes have produced a steady stream of hits on labels like Permanent Vacation, I’m A Cliché, Crosstown Rebels, and on our all-inclusive culti label where they dropped what became, somewhat surprisingly, their biggest hit to date with Waiting For a Surprise. The dark, stripped down disco bomb had one of the most memorable hooks of the year in singer Abrão’s staccato chorus, a late night voodoo incantation that was always begging to be remixed. 

We asked fellow Tel Avivian Moscoman to direct his hot hands to the guitar, mellowing things slightly, stretching out the hooks and adding layers of ambulant percussion to his signature middle eastern flair. The man you love to hate to love breaks his bread and shares it with us all.

A remix pack is nothing more than the universe experiencing its own dance music subjectively. With this in mind, we took Ecuadorian sound-seer Nicola Cruz’s latest audiovisions and refracted them through the minds of some of the world’s hottest young cultural interpreters. To provide you with the best possible approximation of what the results feel like, we then sent an intern to loiter outside a local Heart-Opening Ceremony to get people’s unfiltered reactions just moments after they awakened to their new place in the universal order. 

TZANTZA (SIMPLE SYMMETRY REMIX):

Nicola Cruz - Bruxo (JAJA Remix)

Multi Culti’s lucid-lifestyle dreamer Peter Power takes us on a free-wheeling trip to the motherland on AFRO DAMBA.

The Irish-born Voodoohop resident has returned from the jungles of Bahia with a fresh ep of primal party tracks sampling voices and rhythms from across Africa and it’s neighbouring islands, producing what is easily his most club-oriented work to date. Whereas his tracks for Voodoohop were spiritual flute-heart-openers, these are neo-pagan mating-ritual floor-fillers. The rhythm is set to tribal chug, with rollicking percussion, reverb-soaked vocals, and all the fun jangly bells & bits you expect to be hanging off such a well-traveled producer.

If that weren’t enough, we enlisted Romanian-dance-duo Khidja to double-down and remix both Adama Waro and Dansakoni (available as a digital-exclusive). Resident mix-lord Dreems also weighs in with a subtle remix of Dansakoni, gently upping the tempo and tweaking the knobs in selfless service of the original groove.

Brainchild of Multi Culti A&R, Sascha Funke and Niklas Wandt were introduced by Dreems, who charted a course for the seasoned Berlin-based producer and funky multi-percussionist and singer. 

Wandt was just about to enter the scene forcefully with his collaborative 2LP with Wolf Müller and the debut single of his band Neuzeitliche Bodenbeläge. In the icey cold of his warehouse rehearsal space, Funke had him record a variety of slapped, bowed and scratched percussions (congas, talking drum, prepared cymbals played with a bass bow) over his tracks. These first efforts were later expanded into joint sessions at Sascha's home studio and, within a few weeks, the journey reached it’s destination: Wibe strasse, Deutschland.

At first glance, they seem an odd couple: a techno veteran of almost thirty years meets a side-burned upstart socialized in Free Jazz and Krautrock. but the shared sonic influences come through in the hypnotic, dubbed-out sound, perhaps rooted in the close connection the two share to the Rheinland region in West Germany, Funke as part of the Kompakt family and Wandt by origin and socialization in the Cologne and Düsseldorf music scene centered around the Salon des Amateurs. Regional flavours, global appeal. Multi Culti, promoting local collaboration, one freaky record at a time.

It can now be revealed. Anonymous internet supergroup Drugface is going public, unmasking themselves as Multi Culti audio-visionary Thomas Von Party and Montreal cult legend John Shape, who absorbed the life rights to the Beaver Sheppard Story in an online game of Russian Roulette. If you’re reading this, the Von Party element probably makes so much sense that you’ll never forgive yourself for not realizing it sooner. The vibes, the production; it was there the whole time.  Eagle-eared listeners may have ID’d Shape from his Ricardo Villalobos-produced remix pack on Sei Es Drum, or as the singer in German instrumental band Brandt Brauer Frick. Those who guessed both members are now on some kind of list.

“In the Clouds” is the latest single from the secretly prolific duo, a synaesthetic window into a realm where everything tastes like data and everything sounds like mushrooms. B-side “On the Prowl” is a collaboration with Multi Culti vitamin-shaman Dreems, with the results entrusted to Finnish synth-lord Jori Hulkkonen to ensure everything holds up 9,000 years from now. 

For the remixes, Simple Symmetry pull you through a wormhole to the sunny beaches of Moscow, The Beat Escape add massive doses of class and elegance. We tested these descriptions on 50 tastemaker chimps, and all 50 were still at least “somewhat jazzed” about hearing the tracks anyway.

And of course it goes without saying that Multi Culti is proud to present this.
