Drawing from the spirit of Japanese electronics, arcade culture, and city pop nostalgia, he blends crisp rhythms with emotive melodies and playful synth work. It’s a journey through dreamy downtowns and rain-soaked alleyways, full of warmth, precision, and imagination.

Of course, Japanese electronics play a key role—led by the unmistakable playful sound of the Roland TB-303 weaving through the tracks like a main character.

A deep dive into the hypnotic, fuzzy distortions of Bantu sonic cosmology, including Luba drums (mukupele) & xylophones (madimba) and Bazombo electrified likembé (thumb piano) music.

The Luba and other ethnic groups in the region play drums and xylophones made of tuned wooden bars supported on a frame, with calabash gourds attached underneath as resonators. The mirlitons (buzzing membranes) inside the gourds add a characteristic nasal buzz to the sound. The mirliton is created by drilling a small hole in the side of each calabash and inserting a short hollow tube or rod. Inside this tube, a thin, translucent film, harvested from the egg sac (or "nest") of the ntanda nkumbidi spider, is affixed. This spider silk membrane vibrates when the bars are struck, producing the buzzing effect. The electrified likembé is a modern variation of the same aesthetic. Buzzing timbres are used to enhance and accentuate the rhythms, create "ghost melodies" and disguise or distort sounds to embody otherworldly presences during rituals, masquerades, or funerals.

Golden Bug réinvente ses albums Piscolabis I & II en live aux côtés de l’artiste japonaise Vega Voga et du multi-instrumentiste argentin Pablo Volt, donnant naissance à The Piscolabis Experience. Bien plus qu’une simple réinterprétation, ce projet audacieux fusionne sons électroniques et organiques, mêlant rythmes robotiques et atmosphères dub psychédéliques. Un voyage sonore vibrant et futuriste qui accueillera en première partie le duo Froid Dub avec son dub hypnotique et chloroformé, entre nappes brumeuses et basses profondes.

Enfin en arrière scène, ce sont des équipes radios, personnes bénévoles ou en formation, qui, avec la complicité de nos partenaires, s'essayent et manipulent les enregistreurs, consoles sons, câbles, micros et logiciels pour rendre possible ces captations sonores qui vous seront ensuite retransmises. Des défis techniques formateurs pour celles et ceux qui souhaitent se confirmer aux métiers du son.
