Sincopat proudly welcomed back home to James Harcourt with a new outstanding EP. A release that seeks the shapes of music to come and which also includes the Italian maestro Musumeci in the equation.
To start the adventure we have Maelstrom, a crossover and eclectic track that will hardly leave you indifferent.
Musumeci's tremendous reinterpretation goes deep into the essence of the original but takes it to the artist's own territory and just like the original it is a real mental trip.
We continue with a timeless piece of music called Gamma, and its impressive break that sounds like a call from outer space, an orgy of synthesizers sounds that leads us to a perfect drop full of simplicity and energy.
Inflexion is at the point where light and darkness meet, a delicate and powerful song at the same time.
Finally we have Twilight, another timeless piece of music that will make you fly without leaving your feet.

Phat Phrog Studios - Danger Close

Hungarian artist MULYA joins the TAU family for his debut outing with the ‘Highlife’ EP. A relative newcomer to the scene, he made quite a splash with his first ever release ‘Marvin’, which dropped on MoBlack in 2017. Since then he’s maintained the standards set by that first release, with a consistent flow of new music on labels like Sum Over Histories and Multinotes. Now he steps up for TAU with four fresh new cuts.

The title track gets MULYA’s debut EP rolling... ‘Highlife’ eases us in with a smooth, considered intro gradually building the tension. It’s emotive, dour and alluring. MULYA’s ability to write emotionally-charged melodies is clear from the off. A short breakdown introduces the main, whimsical riff and the track takes on a whole new identity. A goosebump-inducing track that will set dancefloors alight.

Up next ‘Rush’ takes us into an unsettling world of darkness and malevolence. A quivering bassline leads us slowly into the main part of the track. Energy building as an Arabian sounding wind instrument sounds off like a siren. As we enter the scintillating breakdown MULYA unleashes the energy that has been bubbling under since the very first note. One to send chills down your spine and a highlight of Adana Twins’ recent Cercle show and countless dj sets.

‘Whisperer’ has a stepping break which keeps things moving in the low end, while the atmospherics cast a spell on your inner dancer. MULYA delivers an exceptional arrangement, telling a captivating story with the electronic voices he is controlling. As with the previous two cuts, there’s a moment of pure exhilaration that explodes and sends the listener into an ecstatic state.

Lastly, ‘Orson’ closes the EP. It has punchy beats, enchanting layers of synth and a melody constructed using a vocal sample. Eerie, moving and full of vigour ‘Orson’ gives us one last reason to put our hands in the air and get teleported up into the heavens.

Erdem Yetim is new and hot on JEAHMON!, releasing his debut EP with 'Gray Matter'. The Istanbul born and raised artist studied music theory, harmony, composition and sound design. All the basics you need for your own productions. Being a new face to our electronic music industry, Erdem sent a fat demo package to our picky desk that really turned our heads. In addition we are happy to welcome back Matthias Schuell who recently released his single „Damascus / Azelot" on our imprint. Now we're having him back for a remix. Please make some noise for these gentlemen. It's deserved since they delivered some proper peak time groovers.

AIKON returns to Exploited with an EP of dark moods and sensual melody.

The title track is a dark slice of Italo disco / electro, with taut snares cutting through the droning bass and hypnotic synth arpeggiation. Building imperceptibly through subtle atmospheric touches, the track reaches a spine-tingling peak in the spacious breakdown, where synths soar and the acidic bass gets a moment in the spotlight. A voice breathes the word ‘acid’ as the beat kicks back into life, completing the tripped out feel of this moody chugger.

‘Galaxy’ is driven along by a hefty bassline throb, soon bolstered by monotone acid tones and infectious cowbell rhythm. Blasts of synths tease as we head towards the heavenly breakdown, where beautiful sampled guitar melody rubs up against floaty, ambient pad sounds. The contrast between the guitar and the moody bass sounds when the beat drops back in is magical, channeling some of that ‘90s dreamhouse energy as gated, shimmering chords add another sumptuous motif.

‘Heroes’ is a little more on the melodic techno tip but keeps the textures and themes of the EP running through it. Moving at a languid tempo, the track focuses around a simple, blissed-out, ecstasy-imbued hook and a chugging bass rhythm. The switch from a 4/4 thump to a breakbeat rhythm halfway through shifts the mood brilliantly, and throughout subtle changes eke out more beauty from this heads-down affair.
