This came first place in the most recent music poll! At long last. This poll was entirely based on Chapter 4, its characters and its songs. This track is for the Super Mario 64 x Deltarune AU!!

SM64RUNE (working title) is a Deltarune AU based solely around characters (intended to have been) featured in Super Mario 64 for the Nintendo 64, where after the events of Super Mario 64, an unlikely trio of heroes sets off to save the world.

It seemed for a while that everything had returned to normal. Paintings became nothing more than just that, and Bowser's reign of terror was over, at least until he'd figured out a new way to kidnap the Princess. But peace was not eternal. Everyone knew that. But they never expected peace to be taken away by someone new... With both heroes and villains missing, it's up to the henchmen of both good and evil to band together and stop this unknown threat, and to save the world from the chaos that unfolds.

Yoshi replaces Gerson. Rather than facing off against Goomba or Bully on their own, Yoshi instead faces off against Toad. Yoshi has been stuck in Big Boo's Haunt, trying to ward off the Boos. So far he's managed, but he's become suspicious of the heroes, especially with how blurry the line between good and evil has become as of late.

As a reminder for how this AU works, since it's been a little while since we've covered anything for this:
The Lightners are the Bad Guys, characters who specifically, directly cause harm to Mario in some way. Characters like Goomba, Bowser, or Chuckya. 
The Darkners are the Good Guys, characters who DON'T directly cause harm to Mario in any way. Characters like Mario, Toad, or Koopa the Quick.
