zhart & Rakäthe: When you always put music on before you hop on the bike or start the car, when you clean whilst dancing to new tracks, when you curate several playlists for different situations, when you dig for the best energizing music for the warm up of your handball team…you realize that you have a strong connection to music. And when a good friend is wondering why your not a DJ and you know he’s right then its time to start the adventure.

We are excited to present our newest guest on MuMa Tapes, @nadiiim, one of the founders of the @contapes collective.

Based in Amman, Jordan, Nadīm has become known for creating soulful, immersive experiences that connect like-minded creatives. His sets are a seamless blend of deep emotions and artistic expression, offering a unique journey that resonates on a personal level. As a key figure in the Contapes community, he continues to push the boundaries of music and culture.

In this special edition, Nadīm wanted to share a heartfelt poem written by his good friend Tarek Haddad.

Grief

Preaching love is easy
When you havent been slighted
Or had your house burnt down
By a sly arsonist thats doe-eyed
I pick up the seared bricks of my basement
Lay them down without resentment 
A chance to reconfigure as i always wanted
Thats what i tell to myself, how i lie to myself
Black sheets and pillows on my warm bed
I laugh to myself, its how i lie to myself
But what will i do with my walls melted
I cant bring myself to again lie to myself 
Turning the other cheek was always easy
Until the burnt smell of my memories
Burdened my nose and made me queasy 
Buried underneath the rubble are my diaries 
My hands are painful as i pick up whats left
And my heart is pounding to the beat 
of a dirge sung by man bereft
Suddenly the fire is relit but within me 
Suddenly i feel every bit unmistakably 
And now its my hammer battering down the walls
Battering the floors battering my halls
My skin is inflamed and i wish to tear it out 
And my own teeth volunteer as executioners
Will there be an end to my fallout? 
And then i remember to repay evil with blessing
I take a deep breath and i attempt to sing
I change my tune to a serene melody 
As the rage slowly leaves my body
My heart is numb, my skin is numb
The damage is doubled
How could i be so dumb 
Destruction upon destruction and my skin still bled
If i want to sleep soundly, i just need to change the sheets of my bed
But i still weep and i still lament
And i can’t even bring myself to vent
Curled up in a corner with a heart all bent
Cant care any more and might sleep in a tent
Changing the sheets is a herculean task 
My smile a mere facade
My lifelong strength a flimsy mask
Cant even bring myself to pray to God
The dawn is breaking
The sun is rising
The light reflects off of my fallen tear
A bright bird starts whistling near
Black is now gray 
Its a new day
Perhaps theres a way
Oh theres always a way
I want my new walls blue 
Maybe some plants to collect dew
Maybe it is a way to start anew 
Maybe it is a change long-due
Its up to me
Not to you
Im going out to get new sheets
