I made a part 2 .. Ages ago at this point maybe. I know it was still 2021. Same vibe, similar reason as before (just to cope). I highly doubt he would have particularly enjoyed any of these selections either, but I suppose, at the time of this recording, I just wanted to create anything to feel a connection. There never was a part 3, but maybe, if I'm feeling particularly lonely (and I am), I'll go through his cassettes and create a mixtape that he actually would like to listen to. 

I miss listening to music with him, even if we did at times fight over the car stereo xD. I think a lot of artists today are making music that he would have enjoyed, and who knows, maybe he's still catching tunes on the radio waves in spirit form - or wherever he is. 

He used tell me, "It's all about the groove, the feeling, when the bassist and the drummer make a glue and lay it out thick. That's good music." And then he'd throw up an air guitar and shred a lick or two.

Pinedrops' style ranges from ambient, to house, garage, UK bass, electro, techno, and the faster break-inspired genres.  Mumblebee's chameleon-esque style of mixing, blending well with whatever is thrown their way, certainly complements the show's vibe. The two DJs dive deep to explore percussion and deep dance tracks.


KFGM is Missoula's Community Radio Station, which strives to set a medium for all community members to enrich and engage their community directly and freely by producing educational, socially just, culturally aware, and entertaining radio programming.

MumbleBee is back with the bass. They have been sharing their sound as a dj/producer for the past 4 years. 3 of which have been closely with Starlight Reunion. They’ve become an integral part of our collective both as a DJ and powerhouse of behind the scenes skills they preform to help make these magical dance party moments happen. I’m forever grateful for my friendship with them, my time side by side in the dj booth and in our organization’s meetings. This year alone they have performed the SLR Takeover in Big Sky MT, SLR Takeover in Tulum, Mexico, Burning Man ( Camp Funky Town and Unitopia), Montopia (Montana’s unofficial BM Regional and on the air live at KFGM with. I’m so happy to share another of their amazing mixes, I know you’ll enjoy.

 I was feeling inspired after hangout out with my friends, so I hopped behind my decks and threw some sounds together to see what would happen. I put together some Bass Music, Indie Pop, and Assorted Electronica. There’s a track from Grace Ives, Holy heck am I obsessed with her right now! For the most part I’m mixing and matching sounds that I love. Like an unhinged chemist on some kind of all night bender.

I love a sober day party. I love the energy people bring, and I love that we all carry that energy throughout the rest of our day. I feel more free to select tunes I might not normally play in a dark club at 1am, and thus more free to express myself. DnB Nite is a collaboration of MumbleBee, Pandaura, and local artists of Missoula, with the intention to celebrate and listen to all things jungle, dub, garage, and DnB.

It is held in whatever-venue-we-can-get, every whenever-we-have-the-time-and-gumption (usually once per year) This particular DnB Nite was hosted  in February at Monk's Bar, with sound and promotion supported by Starlight Reunion and Backwoods Beats.

this recording was lost for a while, but recently unearthed and remastered. MumbleBee maneuvers through deep minimal basslines with melancholy pop overlays, halftime gut churners, and brain-scratching clickity-clackity sounds - really, what more can you expect from a MumbleBee DnB nite set?

 Rumors speak of a 4th DnB Nite emerging this winter. Who can say when or where? but if you like DnB, keep an eye on the poster spots downtown and you might find yourself in a dark room with a big soundsystem, surrounded by likeminded folks who just can't get enough DnB.
