The nucleus of this song was written in Kingston, JA in 2018 in response to the travails of persons and communities living the legacy of colonial and neocolonial violence—and with particular concern for the bereaved survivors of the 2010 Tivoli Gardens Massacre (Kingston, Jamaica)—by an international group of teachers, artists, and guardians of faith communities.
