For its 11th digital release, Syrinx Music invites Agôn and Céline B. (also known as Céline Technorama) to share a collaboration that originated in 2023. Surfaces offers these seven tracks a new life, as they were initially produced as the soundtrack for Lou-Justin Tailhades “Bonsoir Mémoire”’s exhibition at Monnaie de Paris in November 2023. Out of its original context, this collaboration displays a remarkable balance of sensations: taking cues from ambient or the abstract electronic patterns of Actress, the EP melts spleen & light, aquatic and aerial vibes. Enigmatic loops and deep textures combine in exploratory and poetic atmospheres. Three of the tracks are completed by vocals from lucieter (who recently released a Syrinx Music EP), Axou, Clara & Halveig: delivered or spread across the tracks, the lyrics question memories, oblivion & disappearance, but the vocals also act as another sound, interacting with Alban Jacquin & Céline Bouscarle’s experimentations. Following on their first collaborative track out on Beatrice M.'s Bait, Surfaces is a complex EP made of out-of-time sensations, questioning our relationship to time & forgetfulness.
