Mess x Brvtalist presents: Munsinger

“The Beast Within” is the title track from the debut album from Brazilian producer and DJ, Diego Garcia on their own imprint, VRAAA Records; a queer label from Berlin. In the album, Diego alternates between both of their Projekt Gestalten and The Princess of Death aliases in order to create original pieces of music inspired by a point-and-click adventure game from the 90’s. As Projekt Gestalten, an array of dance tracks are functionally presented; dissecting a more rational aspect from the game's storyline. In contrast, The Princess of Death goes into an ambient and experimental approach; exploring liturgical themes. In the end, the gender polarizing concept is extrapolated and both aliases are finally merged into one another; leading to the Gestalt principle, alluded to in Diego's main alias, being fully applied as a whole.

"The Beast Within" will be released on 25 of February of 2022 on a heavy-weight 180g double vinyl edition and also on digital format.

From Paris to Berlin, and now Barcelona, La Fraicheur is a queer feminist activist who has the drive to dj for countless hours, no matter the place. She has been making a name for herself with her signature sound and powerfully diverse techno sets for two decades. 

Not only has she been running parties in Berlin’s renound clubs such as Wilde Renate and Mensch Meier, but she has been a resident at Berlin’s Gegen, a regular DJ for the city’s diverse queer clubs Buttons, Pornceptual, and House of Red Doors, as well as being a member of Female:Pressure. 

In the last years,  La Fraicheur extended her craft by producing her own music ranging from Techno to Electronica. She wrote her critically acclaimed and politically charged debut album during an artist residency at the Underground Resistance studios in Detroit. That same year, she was also invited by Roland to launch the TR-8S alongside djs Steffi, Virginia, and Catnapp.

When it comes to political matters,  La Fraicheur has also raised over 6600€ (7270.72 USD) by turning her merch into an intersectional feminist fundraiser. The money was donated to NGOs supporting women, migrant, trans people, queer homeless youth, and victims.  

As of this year,  La Fraicheur will launch ‘House of (S)PUNK’, a transfeminist record label focusing on young, queer, trans, cyborg, and female electronic artists of the new pandemic-born rave scene within Barcelona.
