Hailing from Thessaloniki, Greece, Alpha Sect is a project of George McCall, which is focused on breaking electro patterns and pumping body music with serious punk influences. He started his music career as a guitarist in the post-metal band Sleepstream with 2 albums on their track record and he is an active musician with participations in physical theatre performances with his side-project. With already 4 EP releases on prominent labels such as OSM Tapes, Kein Rauch Ohne Feuer, Pildoras Tapes & Forkha, Alpha Sect strikes back with a vinyl release on SOIL RECORDS (27/11/21) and has also signed two more vinyls on two major Spanish labels that are to be released in early 2022. This is the year 2022, not 1942, and sadly the Ukrainians are facing something no people should. When this war broke out well over a month ago, I (MÆDON), started reaching out to artist friends asking if they were interested in contributing to a benefit comp for the Ukrainian’s. Many amazing artists joined and the result is a 15 track album filled with a dynamic range of sounds.

With this album, a new series on Sonic Groove is born, “Sonic Groove & Friends”. A series that myself, MÆDON, will be curating. Adam and I also want to thank each of the artists for contributing stellar tracks for this cause.

This album will not be a permanent fixture, so please download it now and know that your money will be donated to a German charity to benefit Ukrainians in this awful time. We will give an update in due time sharing which foundation we donate the money too. Please note, we will not be donating to a charity/foundation that funds weapons of war.

The focus of this project and presentation examines the art of mental persuasion and how the mind can control as well as fall vulnerable to subservient ways. It allows the means to look creatively and more in-depth to a subject that applies to every person and at every stage of life because how we perceive or sense something is part of our evolutionary survival pattern. Because there is no exact mental                                                                                                              compatibility between any of us, speculation and misconceptions are not exemplary so, an emphasis on “the presentation of facts, ideas and methods and what we knew as true by example” are the major points that drives the overall purpose of this album project.  Mainly artistic but scientifically as well, the album will explore various techniques used to control minds, physicality of people and inanimate objects. The objective of this project is to examine, reveal and demonstrate how humans have created metaphysical and mind-bending techniques to control people, they’re minds, societies and our outlook on reality and life.

For the second output of e s p e r p e n t o, Francesco Baudazzi evokes his enigmatic and esoteric side project Violet Poison after being part of the first Various Artists release as Red Lodge.
ESPER002. includes 5 original tracks plus a stomper Remix by the Liber Null Berlin founder Unhuman .

It is not without reason that the Ep title is inspired by "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" by Samuel Taylor Coleridge (1798), a tale about a sea voyage with no return because of the uncontrollable power of nature and the misfortunes caused by the killing of an Albatros.
The poem’s atmosphere too is connected with the eerie depictions and the deforming imagery of e s p e r p e n t o.
