'DBF' - Eno • Hyde

Borghesia is an electronic music group, founded in 1982 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The band  was formed by four members of alternative theatrical group Theatre FV-112/15: Dario Seraval, Aldo Ivancic, Neven Korda and Zemira Alajbegovic. They established FV Video to self-publish their video projects and FV Založba – the first independent record label in ex-Yugoslavia. Aldo and Dario took care of songwriting, production and recording while Zemira and Neven handled the visuals. In the late 80s the band signed to PIAS and went on to release a string of successful albums and played world-wide tours. 
"Clones" was Borghesia's second album, self-released on cassette only in 1984. The band borrowed synthesizers (Roland SH-101, Casio VL-1, Korg Polysix) and a Roland 808 drum machine from friends. Every song was played live - no overdubs - and recorded to a cassette deck over a few nights at their club Disco FV during 1983-1984. The music on "Clones" is meant to accompany various video installations and performances. All of the songs are instrumental and feature various cutting edge techniques for 1983. Hypnotic, proto-techno and acid rhythms and synth lines. Music on the A Side of the LP is faster and club oriented while the B Side offers a drugged out soundtrack to get lost in. 
All songs have been remastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley directly from the original master tape. Each LP is housed in a silver jacket with original gelatin print by photographer Jane Štravs. A fold-out poster is included with unreleased photos, original artwork and liner notes by the band. After 28 years, Borghesia's "music for video" is finally appearing on vinyl for the first time.

Dear colleague Manuel Eisl lent me his contact microphone and i went on a hunt for sounds....

Here you can hear a boiler, static from a TV, a camera shutter, a water faucet, a clock, and my own heartbeat (kick and snare).

This was a quick test, if i could modify and combine those sound into something musical.
Especially transforming my own heartbeat to the 'beat' was something i always wanted to do.

Established in Rennes (FR), RED REC has pushed forward a wide range of ambient, eclectic and proteiform compositions. In only over three years of existence, the French label has offered a vigorous artistic and technophile approach, with 9 digital releases including an anniversary VA with (KMS) and Tomas Kunkel (Dyad). A new VA is its way for the end of the year and they are coming back with the second tome of We Are The Vineyard.

This a conclusion of project landed as the first VA vinyl gathering the quality of the techno stage of Tbilisi in a dyptic release, both accompanied by a bonus track. One object in two fragments, both complimenting each other.

At the boarder between tradition and pulsating desire for change, it was impossible to describe the Georgian Sonic soundscapes without finding its roots in the old wine making tradition. There is no meal or reference without wine, just like there would not be this rising culture of artists without their thoughts for change, filled with the desire to bring a game-changing wind of change to the front of the scene, being musical or political.

Cette semaine, direction l'Espagne avec WLDV (@wldv).
WLDV, pour We Love Dolce Vita, a démarré en 2012 avec des soirées pleines d’italo disco et de styles qui s’en rapprochent, disco, synthpop, minimal wave, mais aussi de classiques EBM, acid, techno et house. Initialement un duo, WLDV est depuis 2016 le projet solo de Nathan Church, co-fondateur avec Radhitor du label Eclectic Reactions. Au niveau production, ce sont les musiques électroniques des années 70 et 80 qui l’ont influencé, et notamment les BO de films d’horreur et de science-fiction de série B. Très productif, WLDV a sorti des tonnes de podcasts, de mixtapes, de compilations et d’EP, et vous pourrez trouver ses K7 et ses vinyles sur des labels comme Giallo Disco, Bordello A Parigi et bien d’autres tout aussi recommandables. Son BandCamp est rempli d’edits d’artistes de référence comme Dead Can Dance, Noura, The Force Dimension ou l’incontournable John Carpenter.

L’histoire de WLDV est très liée depuis 2014 au Vocoder Club de Bilbao, sa ville natale. Il y a en effet organisé masse de soirées avec des artistes comme Rude 66, Intergalactic Gary, ou encore Gus Van Sound, résident du club Moog à Barcelone.

La catastrophique crise du Covid a mis WLDV au chômage, le Vocoder Club est fermé jusqu’à nouvel ordre, mais grâce à la magie de la radio, vous allez pouvoir retrouver ce soir l’ambiance d’un warm up de WLDV au Vocoder.

MPC 1000 running TR606, guitar noise, and DX9 stab samples while controlling the MS-20m. Both redlining through Mackie DFX12 mixer. Two FX loops - one with the DOD Rubberneck Analog Delay and the other with the Boss DD7 + June-60. All extra inputs, outputs, and aux sends utilized for no-input mixing noise. Recorded live off the board through the tape out into the Nakamichi CR-1A. Bounced to Logic, added some spacial fx on the master track and uploaded.

<i>The Lost Tapes</i>, the first ever commercially released album of Rodion G.A.'s music, is due May 28th on Strut Records in association with Future Nuggets and Ambassador’s Reception.
