I Manic Alice - Tell Me How (Drellz Remix)

Rising star Hamid brings us the next installment from murmur with ‘If I’ featuring the dreamy, seductive voice of London based up-and-comer Valentina. Masters in sound Jay Shepheard and Inxec & Andrei Osyka deliver seamless remixes that seal this package off as pure gold.

Hamid’s ‘If I’ supplies the A-side with a dreamy air of liquid fluidity through the emotional edge evoked by haunting keys and soothing vocals from the beautiful voice of Valentina. Textured and reverbing warm pads add to this delivery of advanced and modern sound while the pacey hi hats keep this aimed at the dance floor.
Over on the B-side Retrofit label boss Jay Shepheard offers the first remix, which is packed full of groove along an uplifting melodic ride of electronic layered strings and a powerful bass line. Inxec and Droog recently proved to be a perfect pairing with the ‘Westbound EP’ on Crosstown Rebels. This time Andrei Osyka is flying the Droog flag solo for murmur as he teams up with Inxec for the second remix. In their hands ‘If I’ evolves into a force of electronic space funk with soaring synths and epic melodies upping the drama whilst retaining the track’s emotive core.
Hamid is a fine addition to the murmur stable. French born, but developing his musical career in London and Ibiza the young producer is steadily securing himself a place within the dance music elite. This summer he enjoyed a weekly residency at new Playa d’en Bossa hotspot ‘La Plage d’Elephant’ (last year’s infamous Ushuaia) alongside the likes of Jay Haze, Nina Kraviz and DJ Sneak. Valentina is another artist on the up and up. Initially coming from jazz background, the vocalist was more and more drawn to electronic sounds and a collaborative LP with Doubting Thomas under their 'D.O.T.S' guise is forthcoming on Cesare Vs Disorder's Mean label later this year.

Prior to the full release of our “Fjara Remixed” package in December, Nie Wieder Schlafen present the very first production of the new german project Flowers On Monday. The duo consists out of Stefan Kling and Chris Kusterer, who have both worked on the exciting project of PHCK.
The two gentleman have found their rhythm and signature and are now ready to explore new grounds – build upon the style, they have developed over the last years. Their remix for Quatri‘s “Broken Villages” puts an emphasize on the original vocals, further underlined by a catchy piano progression and a gentle groove, that is playful and moody. 'For their third release Dawn Till Dusk, feature two highly creative artists uniting to create something exceptional. Jamie Stevens needs no introduction, and as one-third of the award-winning Australian act Infusion, he has crafted an envious portfolio. His solo work is a regular feature on imprints from Bedrock to microCastle, and his engineering excellence is all over the recent Balance presents Uone release. Joe Miller is an English-born, Australian-based musical alchemist, whose podcasts are more works of art than DJ sets. His striking brand of progressive is catching the attention of an array of global melodic masters from Guy J to Nick Warren. Together, these two singular producers have collaborated in the past on All Day I Dream, and now they take centre stage on Dawn Till Dusk…

First single ‘Peninsula’ is a beautiful trek through vocal and sitar-sounding samples. The cosmic collection of melodic arrangements almost creates it’s own sense of call-and-response, evoking highly stimulating images of open seas and coastal drives.

‘Kapunda’ is gifted with a highly laidback temperament. Bell-like tones and percussive hits gently roll through the bars: Close your eyes and you could be taking a slow stroll through the sleepy Adelaide town it’s named after.

The 6 minute beauty of ‘Pluto’ is an ambient gem. A very celestial melody is saturated in the analogue tape hiss of Boards of Canada, building to a very exquisite crescendo which slowly fades out of existence - much like the ex-planet Pluto.

Luke Sambe and Filter Bear combine for an smooth and exotic take on ‘Peninsula’ that demands repeated listens. Plucked instruments and percussive hits flow in out of your consciousness like a deep MDMA dream, one you wish you never wake up from.'
