This collection of music sits naturally as the first release on murmurs, exhibiting some of my favourite sounds and artists from around the world. It explores various moods of dance music, setting the sonic foundations of the label and giving a glimpse of more to come.

~ Through the furthest reaches of our feeling and thought, whispers of familiarity bring solace. It is this essence which simultaneously restricts and expands imagination. Let the adventurous nature of our beings embrace that which was, is and will be, in all its unfamiliarity. For only then can we comprehend the auditory murmurs of time. ~

Behold, SHFT! A wizard of sound. A master of texture, and a creator of driving, progressive dimensions that propel oneself into parts unknown. 

'Cyborg' is a perfect example of the way SHFT's captivating basslines take hold of listeners and dance floors. Through clever sequencing and attention to textural detail, it rolls on and on without tiring. The track slowly builds and intensifies, accumulating in a rich and immersive sonic plain which eventually cascades into resolution. This is certainly a track to get lost in.

'Glyph' displays the more playful side to SHFT's style. Between the crunchy drums and bassline, the track pings about giving a bouncy and infectious feel. All along, retaining an atmosphere that keeps one's mind outside of the observable reality. The effective groove in this track is sure to get bodies moving beyond the early hours.

'Abyss' is a piece destined for the more gentle and personal moments. Whilst it still has great danceability, its subdued speed and patient nature lends to a shut-eye experience. It wouldn't be a SHFT track without exceptional sound design, which perpetuates throughout. Noticeably in the breakdown with the wonderfully squelchy acid sounds. Abyss is a ideal example of SHFT's experience and past in progressive music.

'Neutral Drift'. Co-produced with friend and sonic explorer KR:DS, Neutral Drift rounds of the release with finesse, further executing the Neo-Psy sound. The effective 'Call and Response' method between the different elements comes to the fore in this track and mixes a medley of dry and wet sounds, culminating into another modern techno masterpiece.

murmurs' third release presents itself among the clouds. Emotive and almost tangible, with a sensitivity to soothe the occasional hoarse echos of existence. 

This collection of music illuminates the delicacies of resonance and harmony, and whilst full in sound, manages to retain a playfulness, culminating in a symphony of prog-tinged techno, warping in and out of past and future.
