First stanza is taken from a poem by Cary Lee Babcock. Remaining stanzas are extended from that concept by me.

To cover the shame
With a vow to conceal the scars

A dagger to the mind
No truth can deny
A phantom to confine
On the fracture line

Through the dark and decay I see
