[I went through Robert Louis Stevenson's book of child verses, picking a bunch of lines I liked. then I wrote a song around some of those verses. I adapted some of them to fit the melody and meter, and I also added a few lines of my own.]

I got the inspiration for the song title while reading Yasunari Kawabata's novel, Snow Country. The song is a homage to my Japanese ancestry.

I've always wanted to write a country song. We lived in Tennessee for about four years. In that time, it amazed me that all the uber wealthy lived on "the mountain." This is my homage to that.
