Akai or Die

May 4 2023: Originally written in the summer of 2022, I composed this simple piano piece in the last months of my stay in South Korea. I lived in Seoul for the last half of my 20's -- arriving in 2018 and leaving at the tail-end of 2022. I had left my job and found myself with time to create -- after years of silence on the DAW and in great departure from my typical crashing style of electronic music, this piece is a bittersweet summation of feelings and experiences of those years.

Walking on the Sun

Minimix -- Document 2 -- Revision 14

May 5 2023: "Still Time" marked a turning point for me, or maybe an affirmation of compositional skill and an affirmation of basic technical mastery with my DAW of choice, Propellerhead Studios.

Still Time

May 4 2023: The track explores a melodic theme that's very common in my work -- reexplored in a delightful and light way with the use of flute as the leading instrument. The final minute really hits.

May 4 2023: We can never be quite sure if something is too hard, too soft, or just right. This track is certainly a loud grind, but there are some redeeming melodic qualities!

May 4 2023: After having spent so long making instrumental music, I wanted to practice incorporating vocals into my tracks. I feel the use of horns was unique, and I think the vocal samples combine to create an interesting message.

May 4 2023: I first started playing guitar in 8th grade, and it stuck around throughout highschool. I've had a guitar on and off for years. I was more well-practiced during some years than others, but I usually find the creativity to put together a jam whenever I get my hands on one.
