“In life the potential for something great is often revealed in small changes, happy accidents, little turns of fate,” says Michael Rune, producer and saxophonist. “A sax-theme is changed to a guitar-theme, and a song is born. DJ by night and producer in daytime, this 37 year old kid has always had the desire and hunger to be on the forefront when it comes to music. So it’s no wonder he eventual ended up in Music For Dreams.
For inspiration to his music he search obscure flea markets for weird and strange vinyl - anything with a crazy beat/sound can be used. Because of his friendship with DJ Kjeld Tolstrup who immediately saw Disse’s DJ potential and ability to rock a party, Disse presented a homemade demotrack to label honcho Kenneth Bager. A deal was done quickly and his first real release, the single “Egyptian Disco” on Music For Dreams, was a dream come true! The result was a 11 minute monster, a spaced out journey that will rock the floor in any club at any time and now an all time classic.                                       
And now DJ Disse is ready with his first album “When I’m Bored, I Change Colour”. Based around a mix of electronic sounds, loops, samples from reggae beats, balkan melodies and arabic rhythms, it  will for sure groove dancefloors, lounges and radio waves. Produced by himself in his homestudio with an impressive list of guests producer like Buda (Banzai Republic), Ben Horn, Jazz Box, Don’t Feed The Monkey and Kenneth Bager on the album..
DJ Disse even takes inspiration from classic rockmusic (Lou Reed, The Doors) and twist it with dub and bossa beats. A sound the world has needed for long time.

Legendary Ibiza Dj Pippi as one of the very first Ibiza residents he managed to claim a prominent spot in the global house scene. He truly is one of the creators of that distinct Ibiza sound that is loved and respected worldwide

Dj Pippi started to become known in musical circles in Ibiza, and one of his tapes was picked up by the management of "Pacha", who realised that this young Italian was the right person to make "Pacha" an unmissable venue in the disco circuits of the world. The disco's owners flew to Germany without hesitation to offer him the contract that would change his life.
Dj Pippi has worked two different stints in "Pacha". The first time was between 1984 and 1987, and the second one started in 1991 – and he is still playing there for special events. Amid these two stints, DJ Pippi signed a contract to work in the disco "Ku" (today’s "Privilege"). So this DJ has been playing records for more than 25 years. It is a job that takes up most of the year, as in summer he is one of the institutions of Ibiza, and during the winter he travels the world playing music on all five continents, thanks to bookings he receives through his booking agency Music Ibiza.

Copenhagen’s disco prince Boogie Rookie releases disco-rock debut album

With his first longplay ‘EUROSTAR’ out May 29th via Music For Dreams, the Danish disco-dj-turned-rock-crooner Boogie Rookie seeks to bridge the troubled waters between UK new-wavey rock and a sleazy euro-disco sound. It’s a 10 track long italo-rock outburst about extreme hedonism, disco parties, climate crisis, sex and the European railnet. 

The album is produced partly in Copenhagen with Danish disco royalty Vinnie Who and balearic-proghouse wunderkind William Winding and partly on the hills of Napoli with the Neapolitan italo-don Whodamanny. In the middle of the album there are steamy vocal features from the Parisian disco queen Corine and the Danish model-chanteuse Klara Kristin. 

The album is already remixed by the likes of Prins Thomas, Italo Deviance and Danger Boys and has gained traction amongst DJ’s all over who neither fear the slightly kitsch or raw rock n roll power. 

When he’s not busy making punky HI-NRG tunes, Boogie Rookie is one of the busy European cosmic disco dj’s. Embrancing the true DJ ethos of creative borrowing and playful reinterpretation, Bager transforms the iconic material into fresh dancefloor experiences. In addition to the cover versions, the album also features one original track, the Balearic house epic ‘Waiting For The Sun To Rise’ and a DJ Vitto remix of Bager’s old hit ‘The Sound Of Swing’.
 
The album will be released June 5 on Music For Dreams.

Arto Louis Eriksen is most known for his work producing for some of Denmark’s foremost pop artists. His first album as a solo artist reveals an ingenious multi-instrumentalist reveling in Latin-Caribbean folk-pop experimentations.
 
The sound of the album is cozy and uplifting, with an elusive element of something otherworldly. Guitars, trumpets and flutes harmonize below Arto’s sleepy intonations (in Portuguese and Spanish), assembling a mellow yet meticulously crafted world.
 
The album is titled Qué Vida Feliz and will be released June 19 on Music For Dreams.
 
Arto describes the album in his own words:
 
"The album was conceived during a two-week long high where everything felt open and possible.
 
I didn’t know exactly what I was doing, but I was following a feeling. I was filled with an ecstatic gratitude for life and wanted to make music that could lift everything and everyone.
 
Highlife, Samba and Calypso were swirling around in my head so the album became a mix of those vibes, created in a state of pure happiness and surrender.”
 
Arto has produced music for Tobias Rahim, Andreas Odbjerg, Drew Sycamore, Gilli, Icekiid, Bbybites and Burhan G. Arto has previously released music under the moniker Yo Johnny.

DJ and producer Phil Mison aka Cantoma should be no stranger to the world of the Chillout balearicbeat scene. As a true pioneer in his own right he championed this sound from day one.
But it all started back in 1993 he was asked to DJ at the legendary Café Del Mar. This gig came up after he bumped into José Padilla in Tag Records and they got talking about music and records.
 He's first stint at this famous Ibiza bar was a massive success and the following year José booked him for the full season as resident.
This unique residency lead to the start of compiling records for various labels and Phil was the very first to compile and mix a UK chill out compilation "Original Chill Out".
 A string of other compilations followed incl. a couple in the Café Del Mar and The Real Ibiza series.
 So I think it's safe to say that Phil Mison is one of the originators on the Balearic chill-out scene and one who have been there from the very start.

The new single ‘Soft Rain’ moves in a soft-focus rhythm and suspended texture, drawing from the spaciousness that has long defined Beltran’s work. A taste of the lingering emotion that runs through the full record.

All tracks have been carefully selected to find favour with any open-minded dancefloor and these include Dusseldorf's ‘Saloon De Amateurs’ resident Jan Schulte AKA Wolf Müller AKA Bufiman – ‘Basedrum Party’, a mix of funky tribal beats and strong percussion with some weird and wonderful synth stabs creating an original and special crowdpleaser - Kenneth's personal favorite record of last year. Other highlighted tracks include Ibiza DJ José Manuel’s ‘Macumba’, another African-influenced percussive groove, the track shifts direction half way through with the introduction of a Doors-style organ riff. Mehmet Aslan is on remix duties of ‘Mechanical Turk’ by Karpov Not Kasparov and his Turkish Bazaar roots shines through in the hypnotic and epic 9 minute musical journey.

With Rheinzand’s ‘All By Myself’ release back in April, a cover of the 1975 Eric Carmen classic, the group sent a nod of solidarity to all those who found themselves in lonely grips of corona isolation. We set up a remix competition and promised the best entries a spot on this remix release. Now, here they are: Motefni’s Lifting The Blues Remix, Jerome’s Remix and Tomi Chair’s Remix, sitting alongside two of our own, Kenneth Bager’s Sundown Mix and DJ Divo & Oli O’s dancefloor-turned version.

Rheinzand - All By Myself (Kenneth Bager Sundown Mix) - s0483

Kara Toprak is islandman’s first single off the forthcoming third album. The song recasts the celebrated Asik Veysel folk composition (of the same title) in electronic molds. The sepia melancholy of hallowed notes is rendered through islanmand’s plush surrealism. The gentle curls of Veysel’s baglama is transcribed by way of Jacob Gurevitsch’ sublime guitarwork onto deep bass waves. Kenneth Bager’s Radio Edit also features strings by Reinhard Vanbergen.
Asik Veysel (1894-1973) is one of the greatest figures of 20th century Turkish music and folk poetry. A life-long guardian of the ashik tradition, he played the bağlama to perfection and sang songs, forged by his perspective of the world as a blind man, that reverberated deep within the heart of Anatolian culture and identity. 
‘Kara Toprak’ (‘Black Earth’ in English) is one of those. It’s about the beauty of life and the absurdity of what we chose to do with it. It’s a paean to mother earth, the one giving life to us all. This rendition is done with the thought of keeping the memory of Asik Veysel and the ashik tradition alive. We hope you enjoy.

islandman - Kara Toprak (feat. Jacob Gurevitsch) - s0458

Santino Surfers walks the sunny latitudes of guitar music legacy to concoct an amorphous blend of chilled-out, soulful, and melodically lavish material. Imagine twangy 60’s black and white guitars splashed with neon color and dusty country rock curls in distorted gleam.

The ‘surf’ sound is prevalent throughout the work (hence the name), setting the dial at laid back, grooving and liberated moods that probe the frontiers of the psychedelic. The music is mostly instrumental with occasional visits by vocals and vocoders.

‘Sun Rise Swell’ is the debut single. It sits comfortably bopping on a downbeat break, steady bass waving while guitars paint sweet and dreamy figures in the afternoon sky.

A few more singles will follow, leading up to a full-length album release on Music For Dreams.
