This EP is centered around the theme of love. The five songs show a progression of a love story in a way. “outta place” is told in the perspective of a man seeing the same woman in the same place and believing it is fate. “can’t get enough” continues the story, as the man falls in love with this woman the same way one would with drugs. “all mine” is a bit happier, detailing more about the man’s life, his personality, and his relationship with the woman. “wait on you” then turns the tides, where the man is forced to wait for the woman and begins to feel hopeless, realizing the woman’s faults as well. Finally, on “slide,” the man reminisces on their relationship but is glad to have finally left her behind. While making this EP, I wanted to tell this story while still experimenting with different genres. Most of this is a combination of hip-hop and r&b, while “slide” and “can’t get enough” combine more experimental or house music.
