Iatromante is a Greek word whose literal meaning is most simply rendered "physician-seer," or "medicine-man". The iatromantis, a form of Greek "shaman", is related to other semimythical figures such as Abaris, Aristeas, Epimenides, and Hermotimus. In the classical period, Aeschylus uses the word to refer to Apollo and to Asclepius, Apollo's son.

According to Peter Kingsley, iatromantis figures belonged to a wider Greek and Asian shamanic tradition with origins in Central Asia. A main ecstatic, meditative practice of these healer-prophets was incubation (ἐγκοίμησις, enkoimesis). More than just a medical technique, incubation reportedly allowed a human being to experience a fourth state of consciousness different from sleeping, dreaming, or ordinary waking: a state that Kingsley describes as “consciousness itself” and likens to the turiya or samādhi of the Indian yogic traditions. Kingsley identifies the Greek pre-Socratic philosopher Parmenides as an iatromantis. This identification has been described by Oxford academic Mitchell Miller as "fascinating" but also as "very difficult to assess as a truth claim"

Canopus is the star Alpha Carinae belonging to the constellation of Carina (The Keel), and is the second brightest star, behind Sirius, that can be seen in the night sky. Its positioning towards the South, makes it appear on the horizon in the middle of the winter nights, advancing its ortho to the early hours of the night in the month of February. The traditional name canopus comes from ancient Greek Κάνωβος (Kanobos). Its name comes from the mythological Canopus, who was navigator of Menelaus, king of Sparta.The brightness and location of Canopus far from the ecliptic make it popular for space navigation. Many spacecraft carry a special camera known as a "Canopus Star Tracker."
In many cultures of North Africa, Canopus is directly related to the rainy season, and it is about the first days of February when at sunset it appears on the horizon, indicating the end of the rainy season and the beginning of the flowering of fruit trees; Hence the importance for Aboriginal societies that they depended fully on agriculture and livestock for their subsistence. In Tenerife the relationship of the Guanches with Canopus has been dated, which they called Chaxiraxi. The island of La Palma gathers almost fifty rock stations with coincidences of alignment to the star Canopus, both in its ortho at dusk, and in its sunset by the sea.
A luminaire that deserved the first place among those that constituted the ancient Constellation of the Great Ship Argos, and that for that reason was credited with the letter Alpha of Bayer, which now retains that it belongs to the broken Carina, the keel of the legendary ship of the Argonauts, which served for Jason to travel in search of the Golden Fleece, a star with a corona radiating at ten times the temperature of the Sun. It is Alpha Carinae, known as Canopus, the pilot of Menelaus, the ancient port city of the disappeared Empire of the Pharaohs, or the southeastern façade of the Kaaba, oriented towards the place where the star appears above the horizon. There is no doubt about the astral or light symbolism to which the image of the Virgin of Candelaria is associated, as well recorded by the illustrious Viana (1604): "Dixeron ser del cielo alguna estrella / En traxe de mujer hermosa y bella" (They claimed to be from heaven some star / In beautiful and beautiful woman's costume).

Emesh/AMS is the project of Antonio Muñoz where he unleashes his creativity in the music production of different genres: electronic, ambient, slow trance, idm.
Antonio is both a musician and therapist. His musical influences owe much to the pop and electronics of the 80s when he started working as resident Dj at Deadly club in Brihuega (Guadalajara-Spain) about 9 years. From there he went to Madrid to do Dj sets in various popular nightspots of the capital like the Circulo de Bellas Artes, Mondo and Maxime between others. At the same time he recorded his firsts own tracks and remixes under the name of Dujay. Since then he has consistently been developing his musical interest attending courses and workshops on music production and learning to play many different instruments such as the piano, flute, oriental percussion, tabla, frame drum, congas and guitar. He also has an interest in shamanism and has learned techniques from various ancient cultures to work with sound for therapeutic purposes. Antonio gives regular sound therapy sessions and concerts using his Tibetan Singing Bowls, Shamanic Drum and other ancient instruments. In 2020 one of his tracks has been chosen to enter the program of the London Music Conference and has been invited by the organizers to play a set at the Fabric of London.
The name AMS has several meanings; the initials of Antonio Muñoz Sound, his blog «Armonia del Sonido» and according to the Sefer Yetzirah, the book of creation, AMS «the three mothers, Aleph, Mem and Sin. Great mystery, wonderful and a cult, from where air, water and fire come from, with which all is born … »

Space Commander Emesh/AMS is the next legend on our show, and he comes with a very chilled-out and relaxing space trip! The diver descended into an underwater cavern drawn by the allure of the submerged cosmos. The dub techno beats grew louder, enveloping him in a surreal labyrinth of sound and light. He lost all sense of time and space, transported to a parallel universe where strange creatures swam alongside him. As he ascended, he realized that the experience had forever changed him, the haunting melody of the dub techno universe echoing through his consciousness.

Bio/
Emesh, led by Antonio Muñoz, blends creative music production across electronic, ambient, slow trance, and IDM genres. Hailing from La Alcarria, Spain, he's been crafting diverse sounds on Sendero Records since 2013—ranging from danceable beats to soothing melodies, drawing inspiration from 80s pop and electronic music. Antonio's journey as a musician and therapist began as a DJ in Spain's club scene, later expanding to Madrid's renowned venues. Evolving his skills, he delved into music production, mastering various instruments and exploring sound therapy rooted in shamanic practices. Notably, his track was featured at the London Music Conference in 2020, showcasing his talent on a global stage. Currently, he's immersed in his studio, Elul, recently completing an indie electronic EP with Miss Zagato, with more releases slated for 2024. Stay tuned for his latest creations.
