MATT HOYSON - DARN GROOVY

Behind the alter ego "Ultratube", there is a tremendously curious person with an obsession to constantly investigate new music, new structures and sounds that take him to another emotional state.

His sincere musical passion began to develop in the mid-90s, bathing himself in styles where distorted guitars predominated such as Indie Rock, Punk, Noise, Shoegaze, Indie Pop or Dream Pop, among others. In love with powerful bases and heavenly melodies.

At the beginning of 2000, contact with electronic music began through Techno, of a more minimalist and hypnotic style, with people like Richie Hawtin, Jeff Mills or Josh Wink among others. Already in the mid and late 2000s, he began to have contact with more melodic and atmospheric styles, such as Progressive House, influenced by people like John Digweed, Sasha or Hernan Cattaneo.

Around the year 2022, he falls in love with Disco in its most cosmic and spatial aspect (where he also plays Dark Disco, Italo Disco, Indie Dance, New Beat, Acid, Progressive, etc...).

He usually plays at El Barbero Club (Palma de Mallorca). One of the reference clubs in the city in terms of quality electronics with more than 30 years of experience.

The mixes he creates are usually journeys through hypnotic, narcotic, lysergic and melodic-melancholic sounds where they come together to create a rise in the listener's emotional intensity.

Superhappy to have mixtape master and space commander Stu Mills aka themills23 on the show! Millsy is a self-confessed musical hobbyist whose sonic roots lie in the halcyon progressive house era and his monthly pilgrimage to John Digweed’s hallowed Bedrock nights in London.
Over time, his musical interests and BPMs have shifted towards the downtempo indie house style, drawing inspiration from Andrew Weatherall, Sean Johnston and a cast of excellent DJs who have paved the way before him.
Millsy is often recognised for creating sets that blend lesser-known tracks with unique melodies and recognisable remixes. Italian duo DOG.MA and British darkness queen Miss Zagato (SXDNS417) deliver E//it The Matri// (// = x, FYI), a hypnotic blend of shadowy elements and entrancing vocals. The title's matrix concept operates on dual levels – as both a mathematical grid of intersecting possibilities and a philosophical statement about layered realities. The original mix balances whispering synths against Miss Zagato's smoke-tinged delivery, cultivating an environment that's equally meditative and electrically charged. This is music that breathes, alternating between coiled tension and expansive release.

The parcel includes reworks by DJ Caligari and Emesh, with the latter guiding listeners through a transformative experience. Emesh's interpretation wraps Zagato's vocals in diaphanous synth veils that conjure dawn breaking through ancient trees – a gradual unfurling that rewards patient attention. The remix maintains the original's emotional core while charting its own course through textured ambience and restrained rhythmic pulses.
