Alinement - Technical Issues (New Years Techno mixtape)

I have been releasing mixes for nearly two years now and it's about time for a Progress Report.

Mix #10 is a labour of love to all the best and biggest progressive house tracks from the past year. I have chosen each song carefully, and while you have heard a lot of them, you won't have heard them mixed like this.

I love listening to other's mixtapes and learning what everybody's style and nuances is. This mix to date has to be my favourite for the amount of work that has gone into it and I hope you will recognize the style, story and surprises that go into every Alinement mix.

In honour of my talented countryman Bret McKenzie for winning an Oscar for his work on The Muppets, I have included a little intro and outro dedicated to him.

Just before leaving Wellington to move to Melbourne, I was lucky enough to win a spot to play amongst the biggest and best DJs NZ has to offer at Sandwiches for the Ministry of Sound Sessionz tour.

I put a good couple of weeks of planning into this set to make it what it is, a sweet collection of energetic bouncy tech and house with throwbacks to the great tunes of old, definitely the direction I feel im heading into. All mixing was done live on Traktor Pro 2 with my Traktor Kontrol S4 & X1.

Thanks to all the great DJs I played with and the awesome crowd that made it a huge night. For anyone who missed the set, I hope you enjoy the recording I took of it, please let me know if you like it! Thanks big to NDA, best live DJ in New Zealand for organizing the night!
