Classical Guitar Improv

Home for me, has always been synonymous with finding one's ground back. Pressing the reset button that often in the monotony and "hustle" of life gets rusted and jammed.

Few tunes anchor me to home like no other. While it's not a famous, viral or easily recognizable piece of music, this one (Classical Gas) is one of the most famous ones out there in the genre of Fingerstyle Guitar by a living legend called Tommy Emmanuel. 

The opening melody has been imprinted in my mind and muscle memory since years now and always brings me back to home, irrespective of where I am.

I attempt to play the intro here with my spin of a beat and backing vocals mash-up.

Hallelujah (Fingerstyle Cover)

Buckethead's phrasing and the choice of notes has been top notch. Always ends up instilling emotion and authenticity in all of his pieces. Inspired, I came up with a tiny intro and appended that before the starting.

I have always enjoyed finding melodic motifs in different compositional ideas. It's that section that brings in the so-called 'Top of Mind Awareness' for a listener, amidst the complex flurry of notes.

Here, I'm playing the main theme of 'Visa från Rättvik', composed originally by the Swedish jazz pianist Jan Johansson and arranged on acoustic guitar by the brown sausage king, Ewan Dobson.

Hi there. I'm a percussionist and a guitarist with the bent of a composer. I learned the art of Indian Classical Tabla for over 8 years from Delhi & Benaras Gharana. And have simultaneously explored the guitar as a means to discover melodic possibilities.

To absorb as much as I can and amalgamate the inspiration into my own music, I listen to a myriad variety of genres but if I were to mention a few I look up to the likes of Steve Vai, Beethoven, Hans Zimmer, Pink Floyd, Meshuggah, Epica, Tony Rice and Andy McKee (quite a wildly jumping list, right? :-D)
