It was fantastic to be back on the Rubix Warehouse stage again, this time for some deep, melodic techno grooves and progressive house sounds for a sensual, slow groovin', euphoric evening at Silk Road, presented by Rubix. I really loved this crowd. They were right there in the feelz with me. I played this set all by feel, so its not perfect. Thank you beautiful people for dancing with me. It had been a while since I played this slower style live. I think I really needed it! I'm excited to be back very shortly for the next event x

How surreal to play the 4-5am slot for Shadows @ Revolver Upstairs :') Shadows is especially perfect as the focus is on my very favourite kind of techno - dark and hypnotic. I'm over the moon with how well the crowd received the journey I created <3

ABOUT Yulia Kasa:

With an unwavering passion for deep, dark, groovy house and melodic techno, and newly branching out into fast, hypnotic techno with acid basslines, Yulia Kasa continues to push the boundaries of her signature sound and style. Based in Melbourne, Kasa has played solo for KISS FM Aus, 150 BPM events, Lucky Coq, My Aeon, TechnoTime, TechNeck radio, In Progress Amsterdam radio with Zoldex and more. Kasa was also a founding member of duo Femme Fatale in 2023 where she played at well-known venues Revolver, New Guernica and Brown Alley.

Kasa's sole focus now is on her solo journey, as well as meeting like-minded people within the underground techno community and discovering new artists at events. Kasa looks for inspiration everywhere, and her dedication and enthusiasm can be felt on dance floors. Kasa's sets are currently influenced by the likes of Drumcode, Dark face recordings, Klockworks, Tr!p recordings, HATE and Anjunadeep. She is inspired by artists such as Bloody Mary, MARRON, CHLAR, Ben Klock, Surgeon, Richie Hawtin, Troy Pierce, Wata Igarashi, Perc and many more. A Caity Watsøn set maintains a meticulous progression that skilfully balances her signature blend of intense kicks and dark grooves with hypnotic/hyper lyrics and utter silliness to keep her crowd energised and surprised. From dark and hypnotic techno, to hard industrial techno, to hard dance, and even house and disco, Caity's sound shines through consistently no matter what genre she covers.

Grateful for Naarm’s thriving music scene, Caity has had the honour of playing at iconic Melbourne venues such as Revolver Upstairs, My Aeon, Rubix Warehouse, KISS FM, Area3000 & Melbourne Pavilion, as well as guest spots for Music Victoria, Anomalie Collective, Proponent Records and more. In 2023, Caity was signed as a resident artist for Track08 and was nominated for Best DJ at the Music Victoria Awards 2023.

Caity draws inspiration from labels such as KD Raw, HATE, Filth on Acid & OBSCUUR Records, and from producers such as Caravel, Brutalismus 3000, Mark Greene, Part Time Killer, Hanubis, Flug, Svarog & Nørbak. Her musical influences extend beyond the electronic realm, finding inspiration in metal, doom, grunge, alt rock, disco & funk genres.

A manifestation of her years of passion for connecting like-minded people & building a community, Caity is also the founder of Naarm techno collective '150 BPM', which focuses on monthly parties showcasing raw, hypnotic and hard techno genres. ‘150 BPM’ is a mindset – aiming to push artists to play what they thought they could never get away with.
