The second remix of this classic to drop as part of our 30 Years of Vicious celebrations, we’re delighted to welcome Toolroom Records head honcho Mark Knight to remixing duty.
 
Mark’s signature house music sound has remained a staple of Beatport and Traxsource charts since they first started, not to mention on vinyl before the digital era of music began. Recognised as one of the world's most well known DJs and producers, here Mark adds his own flavour to the almighty Avicii & Sebastien Drums hit.
 
A powerful and funk fuelled house vibe is the recipe for success here. Complete with the original hooks blended seamlessly with Mark’s unique trademark groove, and a super slick arrangement that punctuates the theme. The full vocal teases as the tune really starts to kick, firing forward with an energy that will lift any crowd. Adding a cheeky, well timed Pete Tong sample paying homage to Avicii’s legacy adds to the sustained emotion of the track. Mark's  monumental remix works on a myriad of levels and will instantly stand out in DJ sets.

SONNY FODERA REMIXES CLAPTONE AND MYLO’S 2020 HIT COLLABORATION OF ‘DROP THE PRESSURE’

Australian DJ and producer ​Sonny Fodera is the latest artist to remix the hit ​Claptone collaboration with ​Mylo ​of the classic ​‘Drop The Pressure’​, out ​10th July​.

Fodera delivers a euphoric, piano-led rework of ​‘Drop The Pressure’​, channeling a sound that’s been crafted with the terraces of Ibiza in mind. It follows a recent remix from German DJ and producer ​Purple Disco Machine​, which has over ​500K streams​, while the original spent an entire month at ​#1​ on the ​Beatport ​charts.

Best known for his remix work, including his reimagining of ​Gregory Porter’s ‘Liquid Spirit’​, after releasing ​‘Fantast’​, his second studio album in 2018, ​Claptone’s ​uplifting and vocal heavy style of house has gone on to rack up millions of plays on ​YouTube​, with his ​Spotify currently enjoying ​3 million monthly listeners​. More recently he has remixed tracks from superstars Dua Lipa​, ​Mark Ronson​, ​Michael Kiwanuka ​and more, as well as launching online cooking series ​‘Quarantine Canteen’ and the immersive weekly live series, ​Claptone In The Circus during a busy lockdown period.

The Venetian mask-donning producer launched the immersive and otherworldly ​‘The Masquerade’ events in 2017, with guests including ​Black Coffee, Claude von Stroke, MK, Dennis Ferrer and ​Pete Tong ​joining the fun across showcases in Australia, South America, North America, London and Amsterdam, to name a few. Dutch-Caribbean stars Shermanology debut on Hot Creations with the tremendous three-track Bon Bini EP. The release continues an outstanding 2020 for the brother-sister pairing, which has seen them collaborate with The Martinez Brothers already this year.

The title track, Bon Bini, kicks off proceedings in a no-nonsense fashion, as a pumping lead kick merges with latin-inspired vocal cuts. The lengthy breakdown builds a party atmosphere, as rustling hats provide an up-tempo feel. OK - Cool - Aight feat. ConQuer Jones comes next, with its uplifting piano rolls and wonderful vocal solo courtesy of the lead vocalist who tells us to “make the best of what life has to offer.” Breathe feat. Agent Sasco rounds off the EP. A straight-up club cut, the kick-hat blend is irresistibly danceable, building on an underlying bassline that features Agent Sasco’s whispering lyrics underneath.

Hailing from the beautiful Dutch-Carribean island of Curacao, brother-and-sister duo Shermanology have become one of electronic music’s most well-loved and well-known pairings releasing on the likes of Defected and Dirtybird. This year marked a pivotal milestone in their career as they collaborated with The Martinez Brothers on the incredible Bam Bam. Add to this their soon-to-be-released debut on Hot Creations and it is safe to say Shermanology will be making heads turn, and feet move, for years to come.
