I knew when I saw that you and Milana got paired up that you would do something awesome.  Awesome indeed!  Great music.  The contrast between the piano and synths really works.

This set contains all my collaborations with other soundclouders made in 2014.

Fivos asked if I can play it and I gave it a try. This is my interpretation of Fivos's original composition: first half I played it following the note sheet, second half I improvised on the same theme.

Our Relief

My interest in music started when I was just 6 when my father played me 'Dark Side of the Moon' by 'Pink Floyd'. After that I started to listen to more and more music to find the styles I liked. Having listened to all Pink Floyd albums, I moved onto listening to other 60's and 70's music such as 'The Doors' and 'David Bowie'. It was in the late seventies that I discovered my favourite style of music, Electronica. The bands I listened to at this time included 'Tangerine Dream', 'John Michel Jarre', 'Vangelis' and 'Kraftwerk'. As I grew older and went to school I maintained my interest in electronic music, at this time my favourites being 'O.M.D.', 'Howard Jones', 'Ultravox' and 'Depeche Mode'. 

Having been introduced to the first personal computers in my last year at school. I became interested in computing, my experiences were furthered in my first job working at a computer retailer in Southampton for 5 years. It was there that I discovered the 'Commodore Amiga' and it's music applications. Saving my wages, in 1990 I purchased an 'Amiga 500' and a copy of 'Med' music tracker software, this then opened me up to the fact I could make my own music in my bedroom.

By 1984 I had upgraded my computer to a 'Commodore Amiga 1200' and the latest version of 'Med' then called 'Octamed' and teamed up with three other friends to form a band called 'Alien Race' specializing in acid/techno. After producing a number of tracks over 12 months we made up demo tapes and started approaching various record labels. Late in 1985 we were lucky enough to sign a record deal with 'H.O.S. Records' a subsidiary of 'Wasp Distribution'. Just before christmas of 1985 we released two E.P.'s on 'Encounter Records'. We sold in excess of 2,000 copies of each mainly to D.J.s to play at raves, we also had a track used on a compilation C.D. released by 'Primate Recordings' called 'Prime Cuts: Music For The New Electronic Generation - Volume 2'. Also that year we released an Ambient/Trance E.P. under the name 'Electronic Bubble Frog' through 'Total Head Control', this was called 'Puff Adder' and sold nearly 2000 copies.

Our band split in 1986 as we all wanted to continue on different projects. I recorded a solo album of Techno/Trance called 'Sound in Black & White' under my D.J. name of '6', unfortunatly I was unable to release this as I could not find a record deal. I then moved back into my other interest of computers and the newly arrived internet, starting my own web design company. All this time I maintained an interest in music. Still producing on a smaller scale I performed at local pubs and clubs in Hertfordshire where I had moved. By the year 2000, I had married and moved with my wife to Somerset. Here I continued D.J.ing and playing live P.A.'s at clubs across the south-west, later teaming up with a poet 'Max Zeus Armstrong' to play a fusion of poetry and music at local venues.

Having deceided to forfill my ambition to make a living in the music industry, I enrolled on a University of Wales Foundation Course at 'Coleg Harlech'. Here I am currently learning all aspects of music production and producing new projects, both solo and in collaberation with other Music Technology students.

In the future I am looking forward to the challenge of higher education and university, where I can hopefully continue my studies into music and music production. My ultimate aim is to produce music and multimedia projects and further my career in the music industry.

Playing piano since I was four and studied in a musical school for ten years. Though, I always felt that playing by notes and singing in a choir is not enough to become a musician. I needed to be able to play anything I want by ear so, by starting improvising, I've found my own style of playing. When I teach children to play piano or sing, I offer them improvisation right from the beginning. I wish I was taught that way, since until my mid-30s I had hard times to relax and believe in my ability to create my own music. Twelve years ago my husband (@arty-sandler) finally convinced me to record some of my improvisations and we opened this account on SoundCloud - it happened in July, 2012.

You won't find a single particular genre on my cloud: my musical tastes are rather eclectic. Jazz and soft rock are my favorites but I also play blues, classical, folk, middle-eastern, New Age, ambient and others. Piano and vocal are my main instruments but together with my husband we also experiment a lot with different arrangements and orchestrations. 

When we started uploading our music to SoundCloud back in 2012, it was first shy attempts to record my improvisations straight from a keyboard. Many things have evolved since then. Over the years we've grown into a professional recording and composing studio, with a conservatory grand piano in an acoustically treated room and a bunch of microphones and other recording equipment. We scored a few documentaries, short films and animations. This year my orchestral and piano solo works were performed by Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra for Bryan Arias’s ballet show based on “The Little Prince” story. We've published three books with my original scores for solo piano and released twenty original full-length albums (solo piano, multi-instrumental and original songs in various genres) and numerous singles that have been streamed over 70 million times across multiple platforms.
