Lonely Tears

Heart is the Home is a stripped-back, honest offering from me. It feels like I'm parting ways with a piece of my heart, in sharing her with you. She began as a poem, written as an anniversary gift for my boyfriend in 2016 (nine years ago today) Two years ago, I sat at my great-grandmother’s pianola during the break up of our seven year relationship and the verse melody landed on the tip of my fingers, teeth and tongue.
She’s a reminder of what it is to feel most human and that pain can create beauty, but ultimately; to love, is to lose.
