An "Ode to Music"...

After almost a year of struggling, I finally finished putting "Ava Adora" together. It doesn't sound like anything I've ever worked on and I am not certain I will ever be able to replicate it again - but in the end - I am extremely happy with how it came out.

It's an "Ode to Music" following in the footsteps of some of my favorite bands, including 311 and Incubus. They have thanked music throughout their careers via song and I felt as though doing so was the "right" thing to do. Enjoy!

After hearing the amazing Meg Myers perform this song, I had to re-imagine it and do my own version. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I did working on it, and please check out Meg Myers when you have the chance. All the credit for the lyrics on this tune goes to her.

I have been a vocalist in several bands during my lifetime - the last two both at the showcase level. While recording with my projects at various studios, I got to spend quite a few hours watching some of the best producers and engineers in my area work at their consoles, which was an eye opening experience. I learned a lot from those experiences - both about myself, and about what kind of musician I was. 

As the years passed, I started to pick up the piano, the guitar, the bass, the drums, and then went on to study music production and music theory. 

Taking all that experience from the past, I now set out to create my new future. One of musical experimentation, one of musical freedom, and most importantly, one of my very own...
