The sung lyrics are from a beautiful poem by ASJ Tessimond- ‘Acknowledgement’, with a spoken word response written and performed by Scottish MC Butterscotch aka Ross Carbarns.

Melodic chilled electronica for late nights and headphone walks. Sometimes the lightest touch conveys the strongest emotions. The track’s lightness belies its heavier underlying message- anxiety, depression, & where it leads when we feel we shouldn’t share. The storm brewing inside vs the calm facade we portray. Recorded in rural Scotland during lockdown, infectious beats and soaring vocals mask the mantra-like call for help. Hanging by a thread, we smile and hide our frowns.

Borne from a period of insomnia, this sparse electronic re-imagining of the Etta James anguished classic pulls the listener into a subconscious world, bruised vocals set adrift as The Woods' tender, floating falsetto breathlessly conveys the fragility of the original. McFadzean's embryonic soundscape, haunted by spectral, reversed fragments and submerged jazz Wurlitzer adds an extra edge to this captivating cover.
