Marco Lucchi & Vince Sangiorgio - Die ewige Wiederkunft des Gleichen (Mistysche Welt)

This is the 7th single from Mizu Amane, a side project of Films, a dark fantasy music project formed by the instrumental band Anoice, featuring their cinematic sound alongside two female vocalists with the same name. While Films' songs are sung with their own originally created languages, Mizu Amane features Japanese archaic languages which are no longer spoken.

Just like the previous works from Films and Mizu Amane, Anoice's members took charge of all the production, from composing and recording to mixing and mastering. The sound tapestry braided by the lovely sound of the piano, played by Anoice member, Yuki Murata, and the nostalgic vocal melodies sung by Films, is the world of Mizu Amane.

Mizu Amane also created the synthesizer sounds which imitate Japanese traditional instruments such as Shou, Tsuzumi, and Ekiro, using them to form some of the sounds of this release. The mystical sound of the Shou is a particularly notable feature of this song. This is a masterpiece allowing the listeners to feel a sense of eternity, which is best listened to on a gentle spring day.

Born out of mere chance performance, the new collaborative record between Abul Mogard and Rafael Anton Irisarri is almost an inevitable outcome of their long-lived sonic relationship, and yet I’m still excited and jumping up with glee. It’s not often that I witness two of my favourite musicians come together to create something very special, so when they do, I approach it with a deep appreciation and focused regard. I’ve sung high praises for these two alone throughout the early years of their very successful musical careers: Raf, of course, and his 2009 debut on Miasmah (which I’m still listening to, by the way, as well as The Sight Below output), along with his continuous friendship and support, as well as partnership in curating Headphone Commute’s For Ukraine compilation; and Guido, whom I detected to be an amazing synthesist [rather than a retired factory worker from Belgrade] very early on, and who became an inspiration for my own modular journey and then, again, a friend. Search these pages, and you will discover plenty of coverage [written by a genuine human, may I add – should I use that tagline instead of “honest words on honest music”?]. So yes, I am all over this amazing piece [slightly shortened for this “premiere” feature], which is taken from their upcoming two-long-playing-track release on Irisarri’s own Black Knoll Editions, recorded between London, Rome and New York [the second piece is taken from their live performance at Centro de Cultura Contemporánea Condeduque in Madrid].

Majestätisch thront Jupiter in unserem Sonnensystem.
Diesem Planeten widme ich diese Komposition.
So suchte ich nach einem wuchtigem und massivem Instrument das die Erhabenheit und Klangfülle zu erzeugen vermag.
Ich fand diesen in der großen Orgel der Royal Albert Hall und wählte die Registereinstellung
„Stimme des Jupiters“ 
Diese Stimmen also die Orgelpfeifen des Jupiters, verliehen dieser Komposition den richtigen atmosphärischen Klangraum.

Eine erhabene Klangfarbe die nur annähernd die Kraft dieses Planeten auszudrücken vermag.

“Hymn of Jupiter (April 24, 2024)

Jupiter sits majestically in our solar system.
I dedicate this composition to this planet.
So I was looking for a powerful and solid instrument that could produce grandeur and fullness of sound.
I found this in the great organ at the Royal Albert Hall and selected the stop setting
“Voice of Jupiter”
These voices, the organ pipes of Jupiter, gave this composition the right atmospheric sound space.

A sublime timbre that can only come close to expressing the power of this planet.
