Lyrics largely written while descending Helvellyn in the English Lake District amidst the buzz of ascending it via the challenging 'Striding Edge'. The music followed as soon as I got back to my guitar. Flanging out the chords on the piano felt a bit 'Lennon' and the arrangement came from there.

'Firstly, I want to say a massive thank you to so many of you for supporting me on my musical journey so far. I am still trying to catch up with all the beautiful messages & tweets of support & encouragement whilst I have been (mainly) away for a couple of months. 

I am still juggling some big life-challenges and may be quite intermittent for a while longer but I have been working away in the background despite a reduced social media presence. 

Enough about that & onto the music!

This track is a kind of 'Trancey/Hip-Hop' type track.
When I wrote this several years ago I was having some turbulent times, so again, I felt it was appropriate to release it around about now... 

As some of you are aware, I have had and am still having some difficult times again recently, however I'd rather reflect that to you through my music, as I am not the only one in life who struggles or goes through difficult times of course. 

As I'd rather not bring you down with the 'why's & wherefores' (because no doubt you have enough on your plate already) or you just wanted to enjoy some music without feeling burdened by my problems... Then I can instead, give you an insight into my situation & how I feel sometimes, by sharing my past & current struggles with you, through the expression of sounds & images that I created during these times...

I hope that anyone else who needs to process difficult times at the moment can gain some peace & comfort through this instrumental that I created, knowing, you are not alone... and that it is okay to not be okay sometimes...

In neuroscience, the default mode network (DMN), also known as the default network, default state network, or anatomically the medial frontoparietal network (M-FPN), is a large-scale brain network primarily composed of the medial prefrontal cortex, posterior cingulate cortex/precuneus and angular gyrus. It is best known for being active when a person is not focused on the outside world and the brain is at wakeful rest, such as during daydreaming and mind-wandering. It can also be active during detailed thoughts related to external task performance. Other times that the DMN is active include when the individual is thinking about others, thinking about themselves, remembering the past, and planning for the future.

Evidence has pointed to disruptions in the DMN of people with Alzheimer's disease and autism spectrum disorder.

MUSICIANS THAT HAVE A DIFFERENT ATTITUDE TO THE REST, TEND TO MAKE MUSIC THAT IS DIFFERENT TO THE REST!
It is common practice for musicians to click the like button on #Soundcloud without ever listening to the tune! There is no proof it was listened to, so it's impossible to know who genuinely likes a track! Only actual #feedback proves it's been heard!

I use to follow musicians back that clicked the like button, but it becomes very obvious that only 10% actually listen, when you receive five times as many likes as listens. This has made me extremely wary about being the first to leave feedback, and that kind of wariness spreads like wildfire!

Because of this, I only follow musicians back that leave feedback, or share one of my posts; and I will only leave feedback once if the favor isn't returned. it is better to keep searching for musicians who have enough #class and #humility to return the #respect!

#Musicians that have those qualities clearly have depth, creating tunes for the love of it, rather than simple to fuel their own ego, and fatten their bank accounts!
