Agraba is definitely one of the main artists in Highway Records roster. After a long hiatus he's back on the label with a collection of new remixes of 'Phoenix' - mystic track with an interesting story behind it. It was produced more than 10 years ago, played by many DJs all over the world and marked Agraba as one of the biggest artists on the scene. At the same time 'Phoenix' was never officially released. Ready Mix Records celebrates its 200th Single/EP release in fine style with 'Id Ameggaz', an ancient Berber lullaby, given new life by Morocco's Jalil B alongside remixes from Brigado Crew, Elfenberg, Cee ElAssaad and BiGz & Highland Brothers UTD.

Literally translated to 'Goodnight', 'Id Ameggaz' has been sung to children in the Djudjura Mountains throughout North Africa for over 2000 years. Marking not only Ready Mix's 200th release but also the label's 20th anniversary, this captivating re-imagining of the song couldn't have arrived at a more perfect moment in time.

Deep-thinking Moroccan producer Jalil B has dreamed up pure magic with his subtle electronic framing of 'Id Ameggaz', creating a unique production that's equally at home under strobes and neons as it is bathed in the light of a candle.

Argentine duo Brigado Crew set out their stall with the breathtaking and beat-less 'Intro Vocal Tool' mix of 'Id Ameggaz', teasing at what's to come with drone-like tones and building atmospherics. Their remix opens in similar style, eventually laying down a sumptuous slow-mo groove to lose yourself into.

Mysterious Swedish duo Elfenberg create a reflective and subtle version of 'Id Ameggaz' allowing plenty of space to feel and imagine inside a safe cocoon of rhythmic deep house warmth.

Afro-house luminary Cee ElAssaad turns in a typically syncopated and richl rework of 'Id Ameggaz', surely destined to summon up sacred spirits on the dancefloor.

Finally, Ready Mix label founder BiG AL aka BiGz joins forces with Highland Brothers UTD to close out the package with a deep, nostalgic yet life-affirming take on 'Id Ameggaz'; smooth as silk and every bit as precious, served up with a dub mix for the heads.

20 years and 200 releases, marked by a 2000 year old song. What a feeling it is when the stars align for just a moment.

Sol Selectas is a light that cuts though the darkness of winter with its new compilation Global Entry, which collects tracks from all around the globe to embrace different cultures and celebrate what makes us all individual.

Run by Sabo, many know the Sol Selectas sound for being a unique blend of sensual melody, tribal percussion and spiritual atmosphere that combine to paint audio pictures of distant lands and mystical places. This project twill take us on an even deeper psychedelic journey.

The latest edition of our free download series welcomes @im-sander. The French producer created a reinterpretation to @elfenberg's "Bazaar".

trndmsk: What inspired you to make the reinterpretation? How did you approach the original track? Where and how did you produce it Where did you record it? And how?

Sander: I discovered Elfenberg with the track "Bazaar". I immediately loved It and felt inspired to reinterprete it with my own style. From this moment, I reached them and @metanoiarhythm (the label who released this pearl), to know if they were interested about my proposition and they did. 

The first time I listened to it at home, I knew i wanted to keep the vocals, a little flute plus some few background elements. Then, i built the beats as i love to do with rich offbeat elements to bring seducing groove. The main idea was to make the track more punchy without increasing too much the bpm, so the beat was essential to fulfill this goal. I also worked on creating an hypnotic arpeggiator and a discrete pad to surround everything together.

Why do you want to provide it as a free download?

This is not an official release, as i asked to reinterprete it for the simple but huge pleasure to write music. So i decided that this pleasure could be shared as a gift for everyone who like the song.

What’s up next after the release? Are you working on any other projects?

There is a lot of beautiful things coming up: Three EPs will be released on Metanoia, Crossings and Souq Records for the next six months. Beside, I’m working with Stephane Salerno since two years and we are now crafting a live act together to perform as a duo with several instruments on stage. He's my best partner in music, we have a unique symbiosis when producing or jamming together, finding a subtle way to include our movie soundtrack influences through electronic ones. It creates some unforgettable emotional moments to listen and play live together in the studio. In one month we will launch our duo live act for the first time in London for a Horde x Crossings showcase, then for a festival called Karnasouk in Paris, and several other countries for the next months. We are looking forward to reveal this project to the world.
