Henry Saiz has kindly given us his new production 'Haunted Girl Canyon' to premiere and it does not disappoint, Henry is a Spanish Producer/DJ who is renown for his live show. Henry is one of the most talented producers around on the scene today, Henry never limits himself to just one genre, in the past he has released a mixture of tracks with genres including Tech House, Disco and electronica. Safe to say Henry likes to keep challenging himself! 

The track is being released on Suara, run by Henry's fellow Spaniard Coyu. 'Haunted Girl Canyon' on the 1st of December which includes remixes from the two heavy weights on the melodic electronic scene such as Rodriguez Jr. and Eelke Kleijn who have delivered their own amazing re-intepretation of Saiz's masterpiece. 'Haunted Girl Canyon' takes the listener on a journey full of melodic synths and powerful beats and basses.

Mauro Masi returns to Worlds Apart with a 4-track EP packed with nothing but outstanding music. Driven by groove and rhythm, these tracks will have you nodding along and moving in no time. ‘Like You’ and ‘For You Baby’ lean towards a lighter, more melodic and laid-back vibe, while ‘Lost Frames’ and ‘Internal Orbit’ dive deeper with bassline-driven energy. Across all four, Mauro Masi’s signature production shines through, delivering the high quality we’ve come to expect from him. Another release to be proud of, Mauro Masi is on a roll!

Following his uplifting 2015 single Holdin On and its techy B-side Faces, Rony Seikaly is back for another release on Yoshitoshi that proves this renaissance man is a force to be reckoned with in modern house music. The two tracks on this EP possess deep grooves, but also flex a fair amount of melodic muscle. They liken back to the sound Yoshitoshi became well known for in its infancy. The Sword centers around some tribal percussion and carefully woven melodic ideas, but the tracks focus is decidedly on low end. A burly, assertive bass gives the mix a driving character suited for late nights. At time it feels like a modern take on progressive house from another era. All Of A Sudden is more or less an extension of the first track, giving the EP defined consistency. Its a delicately arranged and straightforward house feeler; the meat coming from a multitude of interlaced chords and melodies maneuvering carefully over more tribal percussion and a monstrous kick. The mission here is to inspire awe and wonder in dancers, and Seikaly delivers on both accounts.

Next up on our premiere series is Kris Davis' debut release on Crossfrontier Audio called 'Interlude.' Kris, who has also been on GD's podcast series, delivers yet another tight sound through his original 'Interlude.' Deep, with atmospheric soundscapes and clean, airy vibes, 'Interlude' is a lovely track for sunrise sessions. Enjoy.  

Interlude EP will be released by Crossfrontier Audio on March 7th, 2016.

Why do we tell stories?

We breathe, we eat, we sleep. We seek connection. These are our basic human needs.

But there is one more need we all share, and it centres on stories. All across the world, stories are being recounted everywhere, in every imaginable way, at any given time. For telling stories is at the very essence of what it is to be human.

The universe of stories can be broken down into seven basic plots which underlie all stories ever told. Recognising these patterns is the gateway to unravelling the universal symbolic language from which all storytelling is spun.

With The Quest, Chapter 24 returns with seven stories in sound collected from artists across the world to bring these themes to life.

NHAR (My Favorite Robot, Correspondant) is a consummate storyteller, and he opens the book with the glistening space tech of 'Navigli'. This is quickly followed up by newcomer Dan Grassler, whose superb 'Going Back' with US vocalist KnowKontrol is powerfully brooding and promises great things for the Munich-based producer.

The momentum picks up further with the standout 'Over My Head', a dark and delicious cut from two returning Chapter 24 artists, Alex Zed and Billie Fountain.

The label welcomes Teho and Machino for their inaugural releases on the imprint. Frenchman Teho (Herzblut, Parquet) serves up a double helping of delight with the skilfully crafted 'Back To The Forest' and the tense tech house of 'Drunken Leads'. Meanwhile, Machino (Desert Hearts), one of a new wave of Tijuana-based producers, showcases his unique blend of potent techno and ambient influences on 'Perdidos'.

Finally, Melodule and Van Did bring the tales to a close with 'Téou 12', a dreamy, abstract piece that showcases wonky basslines, drifting pads and engaging sound design.

They say that there are only seven basic plots but a thousand different stories. 

And so, as the storyteller utters that age old, magical phrase "Once upon a time...", let yourself be carried away…

Released on Friday 16th September.
