John Tejada is a Vienna-born, Los Angeles-based electronic music composer, DJ, and professor at CalArts. Tejada’s professional output of music began in 1994 and has never let up, including five albums for the revered label Kompakt, plus releases on Pokerfl at, Cocoon, Plug Research, Seventh City, Playhouse, Defected, and his own label since 1996, Palette Recordings. Tejada has also been responsible for remixing over 100 songs for acts including The Postal Service, Télépopmusic, The Field, Bomb The Bass, Way Out West, Kevin Saunderson, Darren Emerson, Gui Boratto, Simian Mobile Disco and many others. Tejada’s latest venture as Wajatta is a new musical collaboration with international star Reggie Watts, having released their debut album, Casual High Technology, in 2018 and latest album Don’t Let Get You Down in 2020 on Brainfeeder. Tejada has traveled to more than 30 countries DJing and performing live at clubs – Berghain(Berlin), Fabric (London), Rex Club (Paris), Womb (Tokyo) – festivals such as Dance Valley (Netherlands), Decibel Festival (Seattle), Dekmantel Festival (Amsterdam), Detroit Electronic Music Festival (aka Movement), Mutek (Montreal and Mexico), Sonar Festival (Spain and Tokyo) and Sync Festival (Greece), as well as esteemed venues such as the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and twice at Walt Disney Concert Hall, both in Los Angeles.

Nel 1988 diventa resident all'Ethos Mama Club di Gabicce Mare e nello stesso periodo é protagonista assoluto del primo after hour italiano, il "Diabolika'". Il nome di Montanari si lega in maniera indelebile al "Vae Victis", un grande after hour nato dall'esperienza del "Diabolika", che diventò così di tendenza tra i giovani da essere votato alla rivista specialistica inglese "DJ mag" come uno dei Club più belli del mondo. Agli inizi degli anni novanta é tra i protagonisti dell'Echoes di Misano Adriatico, e del Matis club di Bologna, e nello stesso periodo torna a Londra per stringere rapporti professionali con molte figure di spicco dell'house fra i quali: Kid Batchelor, con cui divide la consolle del "Confusion". A partire da questo periodo la bravura di Ricky viene riconosciuta in tutto li mondo portandolo a suonare un po' ovunque: da Los Angeles a Manchester, Tokyo, Rotterdam, Barcellona, Monaco, Bruxelles, Zurigo, Singapore, Miami senza tralasciare il famoso "Dance Valley" di Amsterdam e il club "Stereo" a Montreal considerato uno dei miglior Club nel mondo.

Just Be Birthday at Underground Ibiza 2014

After three months and several new vinyl orders, I've finished a project I’ve wanted to do for years: a tribute mix to Jean Frank Cochois, aka The Timewriter. A man of many aliases, JFC has impacted my musical tastes more than any other artist in my lifetime. I’ve been following his work close to heart since my unforgettable exposure to Jigsaw Pieces in 2000. After that, house music was never the same for me.

The mix runs three hours and contains 36 personal favorites from JFC’s massive catalog. It begins on the vinyl side with his deep & dubby Driftwood aliases and spans two decades of profound music that has stirred up feelings I could never put into words. Quite simply, it speaks the language of my soul. I hope you enjoy the journey. <3

This past March marked listed's annual pilgrimage to Miami for a melee of musical magic that is Winter Music Conference, the centerpiece of which was once again Friday morning's annual Freaky Tikki boat cruise, an intimate 150 person dawn to lunch time affair. After each delivered incredible performances in 2011, <A HREF="https://www.facebook.com/dannyhowellsdj">Danny Howells</A> and <A HREF="https://www.facebook.com/pages/Cassy-Britton/207845458637"> Cassy</A> returned to the decks, this time deepening their collaboration with an impromptu four hour B2B tag-team extravaganza that followed an oh-so-smooth, steady build <A HREF="http://www.electronicgroove.com/EG335Dory.php">opening set</A> by listed resident <A HREF="https://www.facebook.com/djd0ry">Dory</A>.

<A HREF="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0rxWhVGoZw&hd=1">Sensitive as ever to the environment and vibe</A>, Danny and Cassy laid down a blissful set of classic summertime house music. Bouncy basslines bopping along like butterflies across the beach, with festive flourishes of filtered funk and gravy-smooth grooves greeting the sunshine, carrying an all too merry crowd along for the ride, <A HREF="https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151245453723623.529308.10116133622&type=3">whilst immersed in good company and stellar sound.</A>

The duo's impressive longevity and musical range were on full display as they seamlessly mixed fresh sounds with some tasty vintage selections, digging deeper (as Danny does) all the way back to classics like the Salt City Orchestra's 1998 remix of the Sneaker Pimps "Post-Modern Sleaze" (2hrs38mins) or Global Communication's 1996 "The Way" (2hrs57mins), led by new favorites like Marcus Homm's "Keyframe Signal" (36min) and blending perfectly into modern classics like Dan Ghenacia and Shonky's newly minted "Close to the Edge" (3hrs6mins).  All in all, an amazing auditory adventure and a real treat for those lucky enough to find themselves aboard.
