Tapping into producing three years ago, Sherlock quickly discovered the sound he needed to stand out in a stream of artists seemingly stuck in a rut replicating each other. For every one standout and innovative producer, there are about 100 more trying to replicate his/her style- Sherlock isa case of the former, an artist who is truly pushing the bounds of creativity with a truly novel style. 
 
Entering the scene with what he would define as a progression of “gritty [and] dark grime, to weird house stuff;” today Sherlock’s brainchild is a sound that we both have difficulty placing. The most obvious “future bass” denotation is favored, but hearing his music you realize there is much more. Bassett’s style is cooly calculated and elaborate, even within his mix, his tracks completely stand out in the best way possible. Super dreamy and wavy, Sherlock utilizes avant-garde artists to compliment his new age bass and capricious synth work, often taking the listener for an unexpected, but fully welcomed, turn.

San Francisco DJ duo, Sex Pixels. We are excited to begin our series with a wildcard, dare we say “crossroad”? House or big-bass trap: what are these bay babes going to whip up for you? Generally when you seek out a DJ, you know what you are doing to get, they are a dubstep DJ, a techno DJ, an electro DJ… they all seem to maintain their “place”. Not these boys, they truly love all forms of music, which, as a listener is not only exciting, but reassuring as their broad spectrum of taste enables them to successfully put together sets that completely capture the moment.

Comprised of bay area locals, Tyler Tan and Brendan Trudell, the duo claims they don’t have a favorite genre, and it definitely shows at events like Burning Man where you can find them playing chilled out daytime house at Pink Mammoth, or a 3Am trap heavy set at  Basshenge. Put simply these two are “equal opportunity” employers when it comes to the music game, truly promoting what we are all about- Music is Love, all of it!

Lucidity Countdown 2016: Week 4 - J.Phlip [Promo Mix 019]

Two lads living the dream - writing beats, playing shows and partying with fans. The lid was literally about to pop before the mighty Rona virus kicked in and changed everyone’s plans. With their own unique twist on clubby techno with original vocals, Arnold & Lane are set to have a very strong year regardless of what tricks the virus has up its nasty sleeves. Once the gates open and we’re set free upon the dancefloor, we’re willing to bet our furry paws that you’ll be seeing these guys on all kinds of festival stages across the US.

Now that we’ve buttered the duo’s bread with our sweet praises, let's get to the music. The title track One Button is an absolute chugger, filled out with a groovy 303 while a robotic voice takes you through the paces. Gas Then Dip and Baby Baby Baby (very important to say it all 3 times) take you to the darker side of the duo's taste. 808s, 90s vocal chops and unforgettable vocal hooks are the name of the game here.
