This is a test of the wah circuit I built.  No foot-pedal casing yet, so I'm turning the pot with my left hand while just strumming an E minor chord with my right.  Not the greatest guitar-technique wise, but this isn't supposed to show off my playing.  It's supposed to show off the cool thing I built.

T Wah Test

Once upon a time, I set out to build the dirtiest, nastiest, trashy distortion I could find.  This is that distortion.  I built this circuit off of a dude named John Hollis's schematic.  It's got a flange-y effect that's controlled by a second pot, so I'm thinking I'm gonna put this in a foot pedal case so I can mess with that whilst playing.  The song I'm playing to test it is Garbage Truck from Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.

I'm putting together a low-fi acoustic project thing.  I'm calling it Young Faces.  This is something I made for it tonight that may or may not be on an upcoming EP.  Keep an eye out.

Here's the deal kids.  In real life, this is four part a capella.  I can't sing soprano though, so piano will have to do for getting the gist across.  My vision for this is tenor singing solo for half the first verse, then everybody joins in for the rest of it.  Verse two doesn't have an identifiable melody on purpose.  I wanted it to be a mass of beautiful, fat chords.  But, not to worry, it still sounds like Amazing Grace.  And verse three sees the melody move into the soprano (but really it's low enough that it could be alto), with the other three parts humming simplified parts in the lower registers instead of singing to end with a bit of an air of reverence.

Skipping Town

This is a test of a fuzz pedal I built for my bass. I was trying to go for the tone used on Scott's bass in the movie Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World.  Hence why the actual test song I played with the fuzz pedal is Launchpad McQuack.

I tinker around with lots of different stuff.  I've had my hands in various projects over the last couple years, most of which you won't find on this page, most of which you'll probably never hear of.  I write songs in a variety of styles, and I build musical electronics in my spare time.  My latest project is called "Young Faces" and it's a really stripped down "me + guitar" type deal.  I'm working on an EP for said project.  So you should keep an eye out for that.
