Coming in for a next one to be released via Upon.You Records we've got a fresh collaboration going on which sees two long standing and beloved figures of the German scene joining forces to cook up some dancefloor goodness for post-pandemic times. We're talking Kotelett & Sascha Cawa here who are presenting their conjunctional label debut that is „Akemie" with two original tracks and a dubbed out retake of the title cut.

With „Akemie" we see Kotelett & Sascha Cawa provide a deep and highly fascinating dancefloor banger, pairing a precisely sculpted TechHouse foundation with a well hypnotic, slightly modulated main motif accompanied by an evergrowing stack of intertwined, corresponding synth layers leading towards the most angelic widescreen panorama breakdown you'll experience on a large scale P.A. system this year.

Subsequently „Takeshi" is shifting gears and enters full throttle mode whilst the prolific duo navigates a brooding, well futuristic sonic realm, firing up dancefloors with a clean cut, more muscular and surely spine-tingling, Techno-leaning sound vision balancing the thin line between a looming apocalypse and an oncoming salvation, perfectly represented by the tunes glistening melodies.

Finally, the title track makes a second appearance in its so-called „Akemie *Dub" version, providing an even deeper and slightly moodier variation for extended (Neo)Trance-oriented after hours sets and open air sunrise sessions under immaculate skies for a closing.

Fabio Vanore, an artist with whom we had worked some years ago, asked us in 2019 if he could have the chance to remix one of his all-time favourite tracks from our catalogue: "Petroleum“ by Kris Davis.

The original was released in the beginning of 2016 as a part of Livingroom Techno 6, our former winter compilation series. We knew at the time already how great the track is, but it has grown to be an absolute keeper for many, for example having been played by Flume at his secret Grammy Afterparty in 2020 and probably also having become the most important title in Kris' repertoire.

It was December 2019 when Fabio sent us his remix and had apparently achieved what we had all been hoping for: Bringing the track from the after party to the main stage without losing the spirit of the original. A lush melodic banger.

But then 2020 struck, turning the world upside down. Many artists had to realign and we too, had to figure out how to deal with this new situation. Long story short, it simply no longer felt appropriate to release a banging melodic techno track. We agreed to pigeonhole the project and then sort of forgot about it, to be honest.

However, some weeks ago, Connaisseur label head Alex Flitsch stumbled across the remix again and was completely flabbergasted, asking himself how he had forgotten about this remix, as it still is a massive track, needing to see the light right now, the sooner the better.

The second original 'Morning Lust' sees Andre with another unique progressive techno production. Irresistible hooks, a grinding groove and haunting motifs all wrapped in a lo-fi approach make for another standout melodic production. The lone interpretation of 'Morning Lust' is provided by Microtrauma who are returning to microCastle for their second appearance. The German duo who are renowned for their detailed sound first appeared on the Canadian behemoth in April of 2012 with a remix of Cid Inc & Lank's 'Emotional Self'. Subsequent appearances on Herzblut Recordings, Sudbeat and Traum have highlighted the duos discography in recent years and they've turned in a cutting edge interpretation of 'Morning Lust' here. Microtrauma has stripped the track down into a lean and exhilarating melodic techno construction. The duos fluid energy is renowned and once again on point here with waves of sonic details firing through the mix. A chain of feedback thematics during the main break proves to be a highlight and gives the track an even more distinct sonic aesthetic. Excellent interpretation from Microtrauma.

Anthony Middleton is one half of the amazing duo: Audiofly, they have been close to the Akbal Music family since the early days, collaborating in various records with Robbie Akbal and Muan, for this episode Anthony delivers an elegant deep techie number full of musical elements and quirky acid synth sounds to create an amazing journey. The record comes with 2 great remixes by Jon Charnis and Raw District.

Raw District from Innervisions and Crosstown Rebels delivers a lovely deep house number of the future, perfect for afterhours and hypnotic moments, consistent beats and great structure on the groove.

Jon Charnis (Innervisions) delivers a beautiful interpretation, combined with a rolling baseline and effective percussion programming , great effects and great energy on the top.
