My version of the Ukrainian Bell Carol, better known as Carol of the Bells. To me one of the most beautiful Christmas songs ever created, as evidenced by the song's enduring legacy and the multitude of versions in a myriad of genres that have been done over the ages. My version was created with modern technology, using synthesizers, programmed drums, bass and jazz/pop band oriented instrumentation. However the song remains a very traditional, classic piece, so I tried to keep that type of feel while making use of current technology. Created with Riffworks software and the Alesis QS8.1 workstation.  I recorded this nine years ago, can't believe it's been that long. Haven't posted anything in forever, and was going through the archives tonight. Love and peace to all this holiday season and thanks so much for listening.

This song was originally written for a song contest on Riffworld.com. It was inspired by a visit to the Blue Angels Naval Air Station in Pensacola, FL, after seeing the Angels practice. I dedicated it to the Blue Angels at the time. The actual song was created and posted to the contest site on June 2nd, 2011. Five years to the day, on June 2nd, 2016, Blue Angels pilot Captain Jeff Kuss was killed in a crash during a practice maneuver for an airshow, near my hometown of Nashville, TN. The song is now and will forever be dedicated to Capt. Kuss, his wife Christina, and their two children Calvin and Sloan. Thank you for your service Captain Kuss. May you fly forever! As if losing one of my heroes, Keith Emerson, earlier this year wasn't enough, I was deeply saddened to learn of the death of Greg Lake on December 7, 2016 after a battle with cancer. We have lost so many music legends this year, it makes me wonder who's next? This is my version of the Greg Lake classic. I recorded this a few years ago and since we have lost him in the middle of the Christmas season I couldn't think of a more fitting tribute. Greg Lake may be gone but his music will live forever, as will the music of ELP. Hopefully the copyright police won't come after me for posting this. It is meant to honor the memory of one of the greatest musicians of our time, and not to infringe or profit in any way. RIP Greg Lake. This piece was written by my friend Rob Ellis a.k.a. Brillstereodeck,who I collaborate with often￼￼￼￼. Rob did the keyboard sequencing and drum programming, and also guitars. I added keyboard Bass, and all the additional melodic and pad keyboard parts. Robs parts were recorded in Logic and on this particular piece, my parts were recorded in Cubasis2 for ￼￼￼￼￼iOS on my iPad, using a combination of the Korg Kronos and Korg ￼￼￼iOS plugins. I am a musician and songwriter in Nashville, Tennessee, who has been in lots of bands and played live for many years, and now do it more from the comfort of home. I play drums and keyboards, sing and produce. I create music using hardware synths, Roland V Drums (acoustic drums are a bit of a logistical nightmare), and an extensive library of software plugins, including guitar, synth and drum software, as well as an iPad. I cover a wide variety of musical styles, including rock, pop, southern rock and country, blues, singer/songwriter, jazz, electronic and instrumental music. I often collaborate with other musicians in various parts of the world, and  play on their songs as well.
