Music not Bombs is a collective that plays at Food not Bombs at the deOccupy Honolulu site each Sunday from about 5PM onward at Thomas Square Park in Honolulu.  Laulani Teale plays ukulele, and can cover any song from Hawaiian to Heavy Metal to Broadway, Dave Mulinex plays guitar and knows every activist song ever written, and Rich Rath plays slide on a resonator guitar.  The songs here are either traditional or written by one of us, and there are many more people on the album, singing and playing percussion.  

Two of the pieces are spoken and give the reason we put together this album.  Last summer, a dog named Princess was left at the deOccupy Honolulu encampment by a houseless couple who had just gotten housing but could not take their dog.  Princess quickly beame royalty at the encampment, but one evening she slipped her leash and got hit by a car.  deOccupy members took her to the vet, who wanted $1800 before doing anything.  The deOccupy members, who are themselves struggling with housing and economic issues that run rampant on the Island, came up with the payment and saved Princess's life.  She lost a leg but otherwise made a full recovery and has become a mainstay of deOccupy once again.

We are asking you to buy our album to recoup the expenses of getting Princess's life saved.  The people who pitched in really could not afford to, but unselfishly did so anyway.  Please help out and get some great music at the same time.
