Heralding her forthcoming album ‘Reflections’ on BBE Music, harp player and composer Alina Bzhezhinska (aka AlinaHipHarp) presents ‘Soul Vibrations’, the first single taken from the project.

Alongside her HipHarpCollective, Alina Bzhezhinska creates a unique sound on the harp with layered effects and electronics, combining original works and covers to pay homage to some of jazz, funk and hip-hop’s greatest innovators.

Album ‘Reflections’ features a blend of original compositions and covers of works by some of Bzhezhinska’s greatest influences, including ‘Soul’ Vibrations’, originally record by the pioneering composer and harpist Dorothy Ashby.

“This iconic tune captured my imagination when I first listened to her album, Afro-Harping” says Alina. “I decided to make my own version of this tune by writing an arrangement that represents vibrating strings of the heart. I open the album with Soul Vibrations, as I wanted to show my deepest respect to my role model.”

Album ‘Reflections’ will be released in September 2022, on vinyl, CD and digital formats.

The second of two compilations collecting the work of Afternoons In Stereo, brought together to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the debut Afternoons In Stereo album, RETROSPECTIVE puts the focus on the dancefloor and the EDM side of the artist's output. Featuring tracks that span the entire catalogue the collection takes in electro-funk, disco, house, nu-latin breaks, drum & bass, and ambient downtempo. While aspects of the jazz- influence on the producer are never far away, we hear a harder edge to the productions collected here -- work more inline with the nightclub than the lounge. RETROSPECTIVE presents an opportunity to hear work by the producer that, when collected side-by-side, reflects a very specific aspect of his musical intent.

14 tracks in all including two brand-new tracks, exclusive to this release, as well as two Alternate Mixes of tracks from the vaults. Also in the playlist is the YouTube hit SOUL SUGAR, the video for which has garnished over 6 MILLION HITS since it's release two years ago!!
