First time attempting something substantial for 2 pianos and orchestra.
I had some pretty cool ideas for percussion, but my recording and my mixing software were screwing up on me so I decided against it. Basically #ragequit :/

Music For Thoughts And Daydreams

I got really inspired and wrote/recorded/edited this in about 8 hours. I was influenced by western and eastern composing techniques (standard chord progressions vs. pentatonic melodic material).

The title took a while though... 

我希望... [i hope...]

The literal translation of "沒有精神" means "no spirit", but is a four syllable phrase that connotes a complete depletion of physical, emotional, and spiritual energy that results in an utter lack of motivation.
Which is kind of how I feel at the moment.

沒有精神 [no spirit]

An old idea that I played in fast forward and was like, "Oh this sounds cool" so I fleshed it out and here I am a day later.
Don't worry, I'll clean up. 

The Essence Of A Busybody

First time I've composed something that relied purely on thematic material. This theme came a discarded ending for my piece for Rose and when I stumbled upon it again in my archives it was just too good of an opportunity to let lie around.

I don't usually post covers/doodles that I work on, but Nick was an absolute inspiration and revelation these last few days (I suppose Skye deserves a mention too). I've mashed 6 of Pogo's most famous themes in this piece, see if you can find them all ;)

This is the first time I've ever tried adding my voice and my instruments to my compositions. I think I'll start doing more of this.

What started as just 4 chords (B-flat, F/A, f min/a-flat, C/G) and 24 measures of original melody has transformed into something far bigger and complex and fantastical and nuanced and just pure WOW than I could have ever imagined.
