Satan Semberski is a DJ of Bosnian origin with a lifetime of musical education. Her talent on the piano and sense of melody will be clearly expressed in everything she does later on. She remains in Belgrade after graduating from the SAE Institute as an audio engineer in order to stay closer to the active techno scene, which with her talent gave her a chance to perform often, especially in the temple of techno, Drugstore Belgrade, with many names such as Anetha, Dax J, Shacke, 999999999 and many others... Each track on the mix and Satan's performance takes us through some esoteric story and surreal experience of some dark age, violent beauty, and enchanting horror. No performance is the same and each time we are led through a new experience crowned with pure Dionysian spirit. Satan draws her inspiration from the  horror movies, using movie soundtracks in her mixes. Her style is unique and an ode to true techno, and from the very beginning when we hear the blood-curdling chorus, we know we are listening to Satan Semberski.

For this episode and for the followings, I wanted to give the floor to some artists I admire and respect a lot. I believe everyone has ideas, a voice, opinions they want to fight for. I believe we can aspire for a better future world through music. Today, I have invited @xiamusiccc to record a Mixing for a Cause podcast.

MFC 29 : Xia - A voice for Iran

Based in Montreal, Xia has developed her passion for electronic music in recent years. Always on the lookout for new sounds, she currently draws her inspiration from hard techno, breakbeat, and ghetto techno, diversifying her sets as much as possible. Co-founder of the 100% female collective T.I.T.S and DJ resident of the collective La North, she has made a name for herself in the Montreal’s nightlife, just like her collective!

For this mix, she wanted to raise awareness about what is going on in Iran at the moment.

Xia: “As you probably heard protests have been going on in Iran for the past few weeks after the death of Mahsa Amini, thousands of women and men have gone out in the streets to claim their freedom and defying a deadly crackdown by security forces. 

“The government has blocked internet access because it wants to prevent people from sending evidence of the state’s atrocities to the outside world. We must continue to amplify the voices of the Iranian people to prevent the societal outrage at Amini’s death from turning into a scene of mass carnage.”
“World leaders must forcefully condemn the state’s violence and publicly call on the authorities in Iran to allow the people to exercise their right to protest without the threat of arbitrary arrest, physical violence, or death.”

Shortly after, her journey as a DJ and producer took off, and the underground scene has been a central source of inspiration since. Hailing from Stockholm, she has been making her mark in the city’s techno scene the past few years. Billie’s sets and productions are a manifestation of herself – energetic, impulsive, playful and with her heart on her sleeve.
