Sad Man is a melancholy song inspired by artists with tragic endings that in some cases weren’t ever truly recognized and beloved until after they had passed or were recognized during their life but seemingly still largely misunderstood. Artists that come to mind from personal inspiration were Elliot Smith, Nick Drake, and Jeff Buckley to name a few. Final touches to the song were completed at the time Robin
Williams had passed which has also left its own imprint on the song.
