Anothor beautiful weekend and as usually we are here with brilliant new podcast and this time we have ALi, who was born in Egypt 🇪🇬 and began his music journey since the age of 5 by playing the piano, at the age of 10 joined the Royal Board of Musicians course, and started studying classical music like Beethoven, Mozart and Chopin, as well as music theory and composition.
Also coming from a family consisting of father as a lead guitarist and his other uncles as drummer and producer, helped him establish a passion for electronic and dance music since 1998 .
The passion started of from techno and trance, all the way to tech house, deep house and specifically the combination between Deep Progressive sounds and Techno and Deep-Tech. Ali likes his music to be called different, which makes his sets full of surprises and blending between genres. Melody and groove are what defines his interest. Enjoy great music from ALi!!!

Als kleines Kind hat man noch große Träume. So wollte ich früher unbedingt einen Lamborghini haben. Ich war fest davon überzeugt, dass wenn man nur früh genug anfängt mit sparen alles möglich ist. Auch wenn viele unserer Kindheitsfantasien nicht war geworden sind, so haben sie uns doch beflügelt und uns angetrieben. Für eine Sinnkrise hatte man gar keine Zeit, schließlich gab es ein paar Mark beim Hecke schneiden zu verdienen.

Auch wenn wir älter werden, sollten wir nicht davon Abstand nehmen „groß zu denken“. Nichts ist zu schwierig oder zu absurd, um es wenigstens ein Mal zu probieren!!!

Unser heutiger Gast Phäpp Pay hat sich seinen Traum, Musik für die Menschen da draußen zu machen, nicht nehmen lassen und will euch mit seinem Set dazu animieren, die Staubschicht von euren alten Träumen zu pusten und sie nochmal zu leben.

What an honor to host a glimpse of Nick Devon's magic here at Chromaticity. Ethereal vibes and dynamic grooves melt to design a perfectly crafted journey. Blending hypnotic sounds and atmospheric landscapes Nick designed for us a tailored a flawless one hour trip to get us dreaming. Enjoy.

Nick Devon, aka Nikos Chrysoulakis, is an Athens based DJ/producer whose involvement with electronic music has spanned more than two decades. His musical journey commenced at 16, when he started experimenting with toy pianos and pretty much anything that could produce notes. Before long he was playing his father’s vinyls and from here, quickly advanced to DJing and producing.

Initially producing drum & bass as well as trance, he later transitioned his sound, gravitating more towards electronica and techno. Hence his ability to unite a plethora of elements and genres throughout his current productions. His dark trippy melodic sounds are distinctive, forged through a combination of digital, analogue and physical instruments sourced within in his own studio. This admirable skill has earned him much respect from numerous high profile artists worldwide. As a former vinyl DJ, Nick is also an avid record collector and to this day, spins plenty of old and new records. He enjoys embellishing his vinyl love by including them in his gigs and sets where ever possible.

It was 2010 when he officially launched his solo project and from this point forward, Nick started producing sounds and music that shook the dance floor, yet bestowed captivating melodies and emotional soundscapes, allowing people to create their own story within his productions. Ever since then, Nick’s career swiftly evolved and 2015 was his most successful year to date with two huge EP’s titled “The Poem” and “Cosmos”. His remix on Innellea - Colante quickly followed in 2016 and with all three EP’s released on Steyoyoke Recordings, it clearly affirmed just why he is considered a core member of this Berlin based collective. His tracks have been remixed by the likes of Kellerkind, Rolland Appel and Cid Inc and with an ever growing fan base, his music is regularly played and supported by some of the biggest DJs around the globe. Throughout his career, Nick has released originals and produced remixes on a number of labels such as, iRecords, Union Jack, 3AM, Blindfold Recordings, Us & Them, Steyoyoke and Inside Out Records. It’s only the start of 2016 and with a string of upcoming releases to look forward to, Nick Devon certainly has some exciting things on the horizon.

3 QUESTIONS to BEATAMINES:

Q: True classics inside your mix. Why did you choose these tracks? 
A: Yes, absolutely! A lot of classics. It was a difficult task to find the right tracks, but I think I have managed to integrate my musical checkpoints in the mix. I have chosen these tracks because they shaped me musically. You get a glimpse of my breakdancing time and my first electronic experiences. And the last one is a special tune from my liveset, it’s a re-vison of Patrice Baumel’s „Departure“. 

Q: You ́re a fulltime music maker. Tell us about all your projects you ́re currently workin on! 

A: Over the years I have mutated into a real workaholic. Very rarely is it quiet in the studio (laughing). At the moment I am working on my third studio album. It will be released in May 2018. Further informations are available on my Facebook fan page. Otherwise I do a lot of mixdown and mastering for other artists and labels. That makes me a lot of fun! At the beginning of 2018 I will produce my first "Artist Sample Library" for Loopmasters! This request makes me very proud and it is an honor to be on this platform alongside Carl Cox and many other great artists. 

Q: Do you have any Hobby’s outside of music? 

A: Yes you should absolutely still have other hobbies to equalize! Over the years, I have a passion for photography and graphics. Meanwhile I am doing the artworks of Moonbootica's label Moonbootique Records. It makes me happy to be able to visualize music. Another hobbies are cooking and making friends to cut the hair. I always love being creative. For me, it is important to create something new and make others happy with my activities. What about you? Are you hungry or need a new look? (laughing)

Erinnerungen sind unzweifelhaft der Schlüssel zur Vergangenheit eines jeden Individuums. Hauptsächlich tragen wir sie in Form von Bildern in uns. Jedoch können Erinnerungen auch mit Geräuschen, Gerüchen oder einem ganz bestimmten Gefühl verknüpft sein. Die Fähigkeit sich zu erinnern ist Fluch & Segen zugleich. An schöne Erlebnisse denkt unsereins gern zurück. Negative Erfahrungen hingegen werden häufig verdrängt und versickern im unbewussten. Erinnerungen bringen uns zum Lachen, wie auch zum weinen. Sie prägen die Persönlichkeit und formen den Charakter. 
In diesen Tagen erinnert man sich gerne an alte Zeiten zurück. An die ausgedehnten Nächte in den Clubs & Diskotheken, an die Unternehmungen mit Freunden und die Freiheiten von früher. Das Wissens darüber wie es war, erinnert uns daran, wo wir hin wollen und das ist gut so. 

KaterUnser ist ein DJ & elektronischer Musikproduzent aus dem niedersächsischen Braunschweig. Bis zur COVID-19 Pandemie bespielte er  verschiedenste Festivitäten rund um den Globus und veranstaltete auch eigene Partys. Im März 2020 veröffentlichte KaterUnser seine erste EP. Seitdem folgten viele weitere erfolgreiche Releases auf diversen Musiklabels. Seine kreative Schaffenskraft konzentriert der aufstrebende Produzent hauptsächlich auf die Genres Melodic Techno & Ethereal.
