The aspiring artist C-Jay grew up enduring the tough streets of the Brownsville Section in Brooklyn, New York. C-Jay’s mother worked hard to instill in her young son the benefits of hard work, dedication, and determination.​

C-Jay began singing at the tender age of 7 years old but it wasn’t until his 20’s that his passion for music truly took a hold of him.  C-Jay attributes part of that to meeting and eventually training with celebrity vocal coach, Craig Derry.  C-Jay says it was Mr. Derry who pushed him despite his wanting to quit a countless number of times. C-Jay often fondly recalls Derry’s words of encouragement “You have what it takes, don’t give up you can do this.’’ With his backing and support Collin has trained and worked his way into be an outstanding singer and performer.​

Since 2010 C-Jay has been performing in the Manhattan area. He just finished shooting a music video for his aggressive Rock/Pop song entitled “Death Do Us Part.”  Which expresses his personal experience and feelings that he encountered with a previous relationship.
​
His style of music would be best described as a fusion of Pop/Rock/and R&B. C-Jay likes to sing/perform up tempo songs that have an essence of live instruments mixed with modern sounds, tied together with his R&B styled voice. His image and style is best described as more of a “Bad Boy”. With his music hitting that line of edge and roughness, it still holds the key ingredients of what true singing is. His bad boy persona coupled with his charming and engaging personality make C-Jay the guy that daughters love and that fathers cringe at.  C-Jay’s songs are catchy and enjoyed by a wide range of young adults.

C-Jay envisions a long musical career of taking his bad boy image that woe the girls and wins over their dads.  His goal is to use the thoughts of finding love as a reformatory in which turns his “Bad” ways into good, hence growing with his audience and insuring longevity in his career.​
