Sarariman's Dream is a story about the search for meaning from an inescapably mundane life of a 'sarariman' - a Japanese white-collar worker. Told from a first person perspective, the song leads us through the the sarariman's mind, conveying the sounds, visions and longing evoked by the natural surroundings and her imagination. For her, the rain, the clouds, her thoughts, the Chinese lanterns, the trees, the fowls, and the wind gust were like fragments of meaning waiting to be constructed. But it was her willingness to embrace idleness, to be observant and to draw conclusions from unrelated events that made her the builder of her own fate, allowing her to answer the question she imposed upon herself: 'what life is all about?’. And for her, it is about letting go and embracing the moment.

Lily (Part 1&2)

For the past year, Duara’s members, guitarist Robert MR and singer Renita Martadinata have been working remotely between Jakarta, where Renita is based, and London where Robert was pursuing further education. Robert wrote this song while he was in London, influenced by his experience living there. The recording and production of this song started mid-October 2019 and took only one week from start to finish.
 
Home does not always mean a physical place, but can also mean a mindset or a feeling when you are with someone special. That is the message that Robert is conveying through this song. Opened with a warm sounding guitar chords, then Renita’s soft voice follows like a soft breeze, singing about ‘home.’ Then they brought the listeners into an emotionally stirring, exploding sonic overflow through the production of a wall of sound.

Duara is a collective project by Robert MR and Renita Martadinata. Distancing themselves from their initial roots of jazz and RnB, respectively, in this venture, the duo explore other sides of their musicality. 

Duara offers their version of pop music that is genre-agnostic and easy listening, with the intent to provide the audience with an alternative flight of imagination.
