Tuff City Kids provide three scintillating remixes of iconic Radio Slave tracks this May.

Since launching the project in the late ‘00s, Frankfurt’s Gerd Janson and Phillip Lauer’s Tuff City Kids moniker has become synonymous with quality that’s seen them cement a reputation as specialist remixers. The duo now reinterprets two Radio Slave productions released a decade ago.

Their take on ‘Bell Clap Dance’ captures the essence of the original by factoring in its various elements, such as its intricate hook and gloomy melody, whilst morphing it into an animated and echoing contemporary cut. Radio Slave’s ‘Screaming Hands’ then receives two new versions; the ‘Dreamscape UK Mix’ is suitably titled thanks to soaring pads, subtle breaks and a mesmerising bassline, whereas the ‘Krautdrums Mix’ meanders forward with distorted kicks, stuttering effects and raucous acid.

Having debuted on ‘Anjunadeep Explorations 03’ earlier this year, emerging UK duo Fluida now return with a trio of diverse cuts on their ‘Branches EP’. Title track and ‘Anjunadeep 09’ favourite ‘Branches’ sets the tone with its delicate atmospherics, vocal hooks and trademark hang drum sounds. Peak-time weapon ‘Ahead’ blends tribal grooves with an infectious looping riff, before the EP comes to a contrasting close with the brooding ‘Awaken’.

A leading light of the Spanish dance music scene, we welcome Dosem a.k.a Marc Dosem to the label with a pair of signature melodic techno tools ‘Not A Coincidence / Why Give Up Before We Try’. His Anjunadeep debut follows a slew of notable dance floor cuts on Suara, Toolroom and his own Housestrike imprint as well as chart topping remixes for the likes of Hot Since 82, Coyu and Mat.Joe.

In 2017, D.C. based DJ and producer zacheser had a dream: what if he gathered all his peers and friends together and got everyone to build a scene with one another? Not long after, Chub Rub was born.

The debut release from the tech leaning label is a compilation featuring genre bending, boundary pushing cuts from some of underground dance music's biggest rising stars. Label boss zacheser starts off the compilation with the soaring "Yah Yah" alongside The Jalombian before working into the bass heavy banger, "The Storm," from Luke Andy. The party continues with rolling basslines on Brenner's "Stilniss" and the industrial warehouse slammer "Get That" by Symmetrical. RaceCarBed then teams up with zacheser on the tech house weapon "Bad Ideas" before switching gears to the tribal infused "Tembo" from Rawle Night Long and 35mm. The compilation then wraps up with the emotional rollercoaster "Ceremony" from newcomer Nathan Gorey.

Regardless of where you find yourself on the weirdo spectrum, 'Fancy Sauce Vol. I' has a vibe for you - and is an impressive debut from one of house music's rising collectives to keep an eye on.
