After Few Nolder, Italian fellow Lehar aka Lorenzo Esposito is the second new signing for Connaisseur this year.Apart from his residency at the CIRQ club in Venice and regular bookings at some of the best clubs and parties in Italy and Malta, Lehar truly is a very talented producer as well. Some of you might have heard the free download for Lehar’s remix of Kollektiv Turmstrasse’s classic "Tristesse“ which has caused some attention on him the past weeks and was therefore the perfect precursor for this release. 

His demo impressed us very much and both titles really hit our taste. And as though this wasn't enough, together with his demo he delivered a remix by his friend and probably hottest producer of the moment: Mario Basanov, head of the label Boso and mostly know under his moniker Ten Walls. 

XY is the first track on Lehar's release. With it's continuously rising atmosphere, its demanding groove and catchy chords, this tune is an absolute guarantor for proper dancefloor mayhem. 

Sargas on the other hand, is slightly more subtle and dominated by a spooky and mysterious atmosphere. A totally deep and alluring affair peaking in a string-driven break. 

On the flip-side you will fnd Mario Basanov's remix of Sargas and Lehar can really be thankful to his friend for delivering such an amazing interpretation. Earlier this year, this version already accidentally ended up in a podcast and since then there has been a massive buzz around this track. Mario formed a massive bomb nobody can resist out of the deep Sargas. Normally, we are more reluctant with this kind of statement, but this tune gives us the self- confindence to say: hit alert!

2015 saw Stephan Bodzin release his second full length, “Powers of Ten”, as well as a new single on DJ Tennis’ and Tale of Us’ taste making label Life and Death. The album is another magical piece of work that focuses on melody and rhythm, on fat bass and vivid sound design and is a truly captivating journey through the mind, music, body and soul of one of dance music’s truly modern greats. After its release, a great team of modern music makers was enlisted to remix tracks from it: Maceo Plex & Shall Ochin, Fur Coat, Extrawelt, long time musical sparring partner Marc Romboy, Pan-Pot, Max Cooper, Agents of Time, Dominik Eulberg and many more all contributed to what is an essential collection. ‘Glutes’ is peak-time material without being overly fast or chaotic, the energy instead coming from the transportive arrangement and emotive melodic content. The same can be said for Bäumel’s ‘Surge’ on Kompakt, an anthem in the sets of Tale Of Us last year which led to this release.

The title track rises and falls, surging with wide-sweeping synth notes and a steady rhythm to anchor the waves. An infectious refrain pulls you further in and, right on cue, the kick drum continues to beat the sweet spot. ‘Engage’ is filled with similarly subtle details, uplifting arpeggios and atmospheric reverb. Half-way through the melody bursts into life, shining brightly through the haze and creating one of those moments of release that make the Afterlife sound work so well on a dancefloor.
