After Few Nolder, Italian fellow Lehar aka Lorenzo Esposito is the second new signing for Connaisseur this year.Apart from his residency at the CIRQ club in Venice and regular bookings at some of the best clubs and parties in Italy and Malta, Lehar truly is a very talented producer as well. Some of you might have heard the free download for Lehar’s remix of Kollektiv Turmstrasse’s classic "Tristesse“ which has caused some attention on him the past weeks and was therefore the perfect precursor for this release. 

His demo impressed us very much and both titles really hit our taste. And as though this wasn't enough, together with his demo he delivered a remix by his friend and probably hottest producer of the moment: Mario Basanov, head of the label Boso and mostly know under his moniker Ten Walls. 

XY is the first track on Lehar's release. With it's continuously rising atmosphere, its demanding groove and catchy chords, this tune is an absolute guarantor for proper dancefloor mayhem. 

Sargas on the other hand, is slightly more subtle and dominated by a spooky and mysterious atmosphere. A totally deep and alluring affair peaking in a string-driven break. 

On the flip-side you will fnd Mario Basanov's remix of Sargas and Lehar can really be thankful to his friend for delivering such an amazing interpretation. Earlier this year, this version already accidentally ended up in a podcast and since then there has been a massive buzz around this track. Mario formed a massive bomb nobody can resist out of the deep Sargas. Normally, we are more reluctant with this kind of statement, but this tune gives us the self- confindence to say: hit alert!

As you may have guessed by our extensive coverage of all things Jeudi, we're quite the fans of Doctor Dru's imprint here at Data Transmission, with the outlet quickly becoming one of favourite labels in recent times. For the Hamburg outpost's latest trick, they welcome back Monte, who – you might well recall – impressed upon on the label with a number of releases that arrived to to great fanfare last year and thanks to the glorious sounds of the 'Radical' EP, we’re delighted to announce that the man behind the music has lost none of his nous in the intervening time.

The action gets underway thanks to title track and our choice for premiere, ‘Radical’, a rollicking rollercoaster of a track aimed squarely at peak time dance floors which motors along to give clubbers something to really sink their teeth into. Slickly driven synth lines underpin a sparse yet menacing vocal line full of promise, with the track heaving along as it flexes its production prowess for a cut sure to be finding its way into the sets of house music's more discerning selectors upon release. Backed by a remix from Man Power and frenetic B-side 'Simpler', which jam packed with off kilter energy, is similarly sure to pick up plenty of attention during the small hours in the coming months and add a spine-tingling sense of drama to any set it pervades.

As the dust finally begins to settle after the release of Pan-Pot's massive album 'The Other', it's time to unleash a collection of heavy hitting reworks from the best and brightest stars of todays techno elite. Through careful consideration and an acute attention to detail, we couldn't be more elated to confirm ten artists we know and love to contribute their unique vision to Second State's first ever remix package.

Kicking things off with a heavily twisted alteration of 'Attention' is Nicole Moudaber and it's a tangled, dark trek through dense acoustic layers of audible madness. Next up is the Hamburg duo

Extrawelt with their twist on 'Optimistic Grey' and they deliver a beautiful blend of emotion and groove they are synonymous for.

Following suit is another passionately romantic number from man of the hour, Stephan Bodzin, and his take feels like floating through a sea of clouds, resulting in a timeless classic to be a focal point in any set for years to come.

Next in line is Ray Kajioka's take on '808 Nirvana' and it's a cosmic ride, ripe with swirling atmospherics laid over big churning drums and rolling cymbals.

Following up on the second 12“ of this LP is a man who needs no introduction: Carl Cox. And in true Coxy fashion he turns 'Riot' into just that: a big room, tension building monster!

Broken Engine' is the next track to get worked over and Wigbert delivers a stunning mix of shimmering tones and growling bass resulting in a lush venture through a cosmic backdrop of flickering stars in deep space.

Joseph Capriati ensues with his vision of 'Fugitives' and he brilliantly keeps the vibe of the original yet adds his trademark big room flair to take it to another level of driving euphoria.

Enlisting the talents of Alan Fitzpatrick to remix one of the slower listening tracks on the album turned out to be magic. With his signature percussion, Fitzpatrick takes the parts and creates a dive deep into sultry smooth waters of seduction.

The first of our last two remixes, which are digital exclusives, come from Paul Ritch and he delivers a grinding rendition of 'Riot', expertly crafted for the more euphoric peak time occasions.

Last and certainly not least is a man on the rise, Kevin Knapp with his twist on his own collaboration with Pan-Pot: 'Get In'. An expertly crafted tech house jam exploding with energy and attitude perfect for any moment, day or night, indoors or out.

No matter the time or place, there is something here for everyone and we are truly fulfilled and honored to present this package of cutting edge artists to celebrate this landmark moment. We know you will enjoy!

Biography 

Musumeci is the musical project of Mauro Di Martino, a Sicilian DJ and producer active since the late 80s. Through his numerous and always surprising productions — more than 200 releases and remixes in the last 10 years alone, appearing on labels like Bedrock, Compost Black Label, Diynamic Music, Future Disco, Innervisions, MoBlack, Kompakt, Permanent Vacation, Sudbeat, Toy Tonics, Universal, Watergate, and many more — he has largely contributed to putting Italy on the global map of electronic music.

Whether on his own labels — Somethingnu, Engrave Ltd, Buttress, and Multinotes — or through his various collaborations and remixes for artists such as Emmanuel Jal, Bob Sinclar, Kungs, David Guetta, MoBlack, and Crystal Fighters, to name just a few, Musumeci is committed to shining a light on promising talents as well as heartfelt, distinctive personalities, all while continuously expanding his musical world and knowledge.

His extensive experience on the dancefloor and in the studio, his ability to fully embrace the musical moment regardless of genre, and his ongoing quest for pure, colorful emotions of all kinds make him one of the unmissable figures of the contemporary electronic music scene.
