Two key things every individual and nation is concerned about, and āyāt from the Qur’ān in this regard.
Āyāt that explain what moves a nation from prosperity and security to poverty and living in fear.
Statements from the Salaf regarding the āyah, “Corruption has appeared on land and sea because of what the hands of men have earned, that Allāh may make them taste a part of that which they have done, in order that they may return.” [Sūrah ar-Rūm 30:41]
Remnants of the punishments of the previous nations.
Examples of the effects tied to the actions of the people.
How Allāh, through His Wisdom and Justice, shows the people their deeds.
The outcome of breaking the covenant of Allāh and His Messenger ﷺ.
How bid’ah and fujūr lead to the end of the first ruling dynasty (Banu Umayyah).

Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) on how the rulers are a manifestation of the actions of the people.
Mu’ādh b. Jabal (رضى الله عنه) on the appointing of the amīr being from the affairs of Allāh.
The implication of reviling the ruler.
Abū Bakr Muḥammad aṭ-Ṭarṭūshī (رحمه الله) on the statement, “As you yourselves behave, you will be ruled over in a like manner.”
