- The īmān and strength of the Salaf during illness, exemplified in the story of ‘Urwah b. Zubayr (رحمه الله) when his leg was amputated.

- Responding to the one who says there is no cure for his illness.
- Shaykh Aḥmad an-Najmī (رحمه الله) on switching off support machines.
- A warning against being hasty in giving permission to switch off support machines.

[20/06/2025] Sins are the Reason for Natural Disasters, Trials and Tribulations - By Abu Fuḍayl ‘Abdur Raqī حفظه الله. Khuṭbah at Masjid As-Sunnah An-Nabawiyyah, Aston, Birmingham, UK.

Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:

– Verily, We sent Messengers to many nations before you (O Muhammad). And We seized them with extreme poverty and loss in health with calamities so that they might believe with humility.

When Our Torment reached them, why then did they not believe with humility? But their hearts became hardened, and Shaitan made fair-seeming to them that which they used to do. Surah Anfal 6:42-43

– Explanation of the above verses by Shaykh Muqbil.

– “And let not those who disbelieve think that they can outstrip (escape from the punishment). Verily, they will never be able to save themselves (from Allah’s Punishment).” Surah Anfal 8:59

– “And whatever of misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much.” Surah Shura 42:35

– The real reasons for the “natural disasters.”

– Allah’s blessing and the safety can be replaced with hardship and difficulties.
