Tronik Youth is Neil Parnell, a well-respected DJ, producer and label boss of Nein Records in the UK. Tronik has released numerous singles and around 100 remixes over the last decade, with current singles Psycho Bubble and The Shaker still in many DJs‘ bags and on Beatport charts. He is about to release his second album called Neon Disease. He has also released an album of ambient/drone music under his own name to strong acclaim this year, and his debut album Youth Is Wasted On The Young, featuring Factory Floor’s Gabe Gurnsey on drums, was released in July 2015.

The Nein record label he owns and runs includes esteemed artists such as Rodion, Black Light Smoke, Roe Deers, Daniele Baldelli, DJ Rocca, Cabaret Nocturne, Two Mamarrachos, Emperor Machine, Antoni Miaovvi, Gemini Brothers, Man Power, Heretic and Curses. He was voted in the top 30 artists of 2016 on Beatport’s Indie Dance Genre and his label was on the website top ten labels. Nein was also in Resident Advisors top 100 charted labels for 2016.

Last year he did successful tours in the USA, Mexico and Australia, also performed in numerous festivals including the well-respected Love International Festival in Croatia. He and his Label will be had their own stage at the 2018 Alfresco Festival in the UK and also at Yaga Festival in Lithuania as part of their 5th-anniversary tour.

2018 saw him celebrate Nein’s fifth year with a compilation called Nein To Five, consisting of all-new tracks. His work in the last year includes collaborations and remixes with Tunnel Signs and The Hacker.

Tronik Youth hosts the regular Nein Records flagship radio show on Cowbell, whereby each month the label selects a special guest mix. The show is already fast becoming a popular place for world premieres and a hub for social media frenzy.

Eccentric and unpredictable, this artist remains at the top of his game, signing the best underground talent from Europe to Nein Records, releasing pure quality, evident in all the Tronik Youth productions, mixes and DJ sets.

Recorded live at Mareh Festival in Atins, Brazil, on 2019 new years eve, between 2am and 6am. That party was happening in a tent on a tiny sand island of the shore of Atins only accessible at high tide. Just try to imagine that setting while listening, the sunrise slowly appearing around 5am.

There was a short rain around 5am that caused an interruption in the sound that you can hear in the mix. Also, it was recorded in mono for some reason... but the vibe is there.

This week we are honoured to welcome Luis Costa (DJ Lui), a great friend and one of the leading figures in Spanish electronic music, with a set full of sentimentality, proposed to be listened to at home while we wait hopefully to dance together again soon in a club.

Luis prepares for us a selection of songs that have accompanied him during various stages of his career, which make us transition through various emotions with a hopeful undertone. A rhythmic and enveloping one-hour journey through downtempo tracks, from ambient, instrumental, electro and wave.

Dj and journalist, Luis Costa has been a resident of the Lolita room at Razzmatazz Clubs since 2009, where he also works as press officer. Since 2013 he has organised the Dancetería party and more recently Destination Moon, together with Fledermaus, at Freedonia, where he also programmes artists and is resident DJ. Last 2019 he released his edit of "Autogas" by the pioneering Spanish synth wave and proto techno band TodoTodo, on a 12" on Frigio Records. He is the author of Bacalao! It seems that the world is falling apart, but the music continues to shine, and more with artists like the one we bring in the new edition of Melómana Records. We are talking about neither more nor less than the English producer Dan Wainwright, an artist for whom music has always been everything, hence his compositions cross the borders of many genres, as if after the explosion of a cataclysm, it occurred to him collect the musical remains of other genres to reinvent them, searching in each sound for a meaning to a disturbing and dark present. The album that we present, House of the Sun, is a response to the existential emptiness experienced by a time of all or nothing, which allows one to dream while still being awake. Clear influences from artists such as The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Tangerine Dream, The Ozric Tentacles, house, balearic, funk, and anything creatively alive are perceived in the EP, he has managed to make the most intimate and everyday, something cosmic and profound. An example of this, which condenses Wainwright's sound universe is the track House of the Sun, which is accompanied by the great remix of producer A-Tweed. Also Wachuma, who introduces us to a new territory, which will make us detach ourselves from this harsh and harsh reality.

The result of this House of the Sun is a work whose creative process has been behind him for more than 26 years, and which is born from an impulse to condense into one piece his passion for music, life and the people he loves.
